The Ban Phu Citadel Festival is organized in 2 parts: The ceremony and the festival with many rich and attractive contents such as: Procession of offerings; dragon dance to welcome the festival; festival drums; cultural and artistic activities; sports competitions, folk games...
At the rehearsal, the Organizing Committee ran the program of the ceremony including: Procession of offerings; dragon dance to welcome the festival; festival drums; incense offering to commemorate the 255th death anniversary of General Hoang Cong Chat; "Remembering the merits of General Hoang Cong Chat" ceremony... Along with that was an epic performance to welcome the festival with the theme "Majestic Citadel of Ban Phu" including 3 chapters: Legendary history of Dien Bien ; Majestic Citadel of Ban Phu and continuing to write the heroic history.
After the rehearsal, the Organizing Committee held a meeting to review experiences with related units and the program's production team regarding costumes, props, and narration content, ensuring the program's success.
The opening program of the 10th Dien Bien District Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival 2024 took place on the evening of April 1, 2024; the opening ceremony of the 2024 Ban Phu Citadel Festival officially took place on the morning of April 2 at the Ban Phu Citadel National Historical and Cultural Relic Site.
