On May 1 (March 23 of the lunar calendar), the Management Board of Pho Hien National Special Relic Site held the opening ceremony of the traditional festival of Thien Hau Temple.
Thien Hau Temple, whose Chinese name is Thien Hau Cung, is located on Bac Hoa Street - the center of Pho Hien in the past, now Trung Trac Street (Quang Trung Ward, Hung Yen City). The temple worships Mrs. Lam Tuc Mac, a native of Bo Dien Village, Fujian Province, China. She is the Chinese sea goddess, who has a benevolent heart to help the people, bringing a prosperous and happy life to the people. Thien Hau Temple was built in 1640 by Chinese families in Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian who donated money. The building has a strong Chinese architectural style in many items such as: the gate, the incense house, the roof...
Every year, Thien Hau Temple holds a festival on March 23 and September 9 (lunar calendar) to celebrate the birth and death of Lam Tuc Mac. Thien Hau Temple is one of the few ancient Chinese architectural works in Pho Hien that has been preserved to this day. The work was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in 1992 and is a relic of the Pho Hien Special National Relic Site.
