25th Anniversary of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic

The VicePresident affirmed that the Vietnamese community abroad, including the community in the Czech Republic, has made important contributions to the cause of national construction and development, always looking towards the homeland.

On November 15, the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic celebrated its 25th anniversary and received the First Class Labor Medal.

Attending and speaking at the event were Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, representatives of Vietnamese agencies and departments, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic, and more than 400 overseas Vietnamese delegates from across the Czech Republic.

On the Czech side, there were Senate President Milos Vystrcil, House of Representatives Vice President Karel Havlicek and leaders of ministries and agencies of the Czech Republic.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic Nguyen Duy Nhien emphasized that the Association was established on November 15, 1999, and is the legal, official and highest representative organization of the Vietnamese community recognized by the Czech and Vietnamese governments .

After 25 years of establishment and development, the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic has grown from a small group to 10 provincial associations, 44 district-level branches, and 27 member associations. The members of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic are diverse in terms of levels and fields of activity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that despite being geographically distant, Vietnam and the Czech Republic have many similarities in cultural and historical traditions.

The Czech Republic was one of the first countries in the world to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam since the 1950s.

The Vice President affirmed that the Vietnamese community abroad, including the community in the Czech Republic, has made important contributions to the cause of innovation, construction and development of the country, always looking towards the homeland.

After 25 years of establishment, the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic has developed strongly, actively operating in accordance with its principles and purposes, building a network of members, connecting local associations with the homeland, contributing to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to Czech friends, nurturing love for the homeland in the community, especially among the young generation, contributing to affirming the position and prestige of the Vietnamese people.

The Vice President hopes that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic will continue to promote its role and responsibility, contribute more to the local socio-economic development, unite to preserve the national cultural identity, always look towards the Fatherland, and be a solid bridge for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Czech Senate President Milos Vystrcil also congratulated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, recognizing the great contributions of the Vietnamese community to the Czech Republic and Vietnam.

He emphasized that the fact that hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese people have studied in the Czech Republic is an important foundation for both sides to build and further develop the relationship between the two countries and peoples and move towards upgrading bilateral relations to a new level.

The President of the Senate affirmed that Czech agencies will strive to support activities to promote cooperation in various fields as well as enhance people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Czech House of Representatives Karel Havlicek expressed his joy at attending the event, affirming that the role of Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic is increasingly enhanced.

He also appreciated the development of the Vietnamese community in recent times, especially many individuals who have made contributions in the fields of economics, science, health, education, public administration...

He also emphasized the support and assistance of the Vietnamese community to local people, including contributions to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In recognition of the contributions, efforts and achievements of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic and individuals, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the First and Third Class Labor Medals of the State to the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic and three individuals: Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang; Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhien and Mr. Giang Thanh.

Also at the ceremony, many individuals and groups were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

In addition, on the occasion of the ceremony, representatives of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic presented the 5th donation from the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic to support compatriots in the country affected by storm Yagi with the amount of 600 million VND.

Through five donation campaigns, the Vietnamese community has sent a total of more than 5.7 billion VND to support compatriots in the country./.
