Recently, in response to Official Dispatch No. 4304 dated September 16 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs regarding suggestions for Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays and some other holidays in 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training gave the following comments:
The Ministry of Education and Training basically agrees with the draft Official Dispatch requesting the Prime Minister's opinion on the proposal to take Lunar New Year, National Day and some other holidays in 2025.

Regarding the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 for civil servants and public employees, the Ministry of Education and Training agrees with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to have 5 days off according to regulations, including 2 days off before Tet and 3 days off after Tet. Civil servants and public employees will have the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 from Saturday, January 5, 2025 to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (ie December 26, Giap Thin year to January 5, At Ty year). According to this plan, civil servants and public employees will have 9 days off (including 5 days off for Lunar New Year and 4 days off every week).
Regarding the 2025 National Day holiday for civil servants and public employees, the Ministry of Education and Training agrees with the proposal of Option 1 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, with 2 days off according to regulations, including September 2 and 1 day immediately before September 2.
Civil servants and public employees will have the National Day holiday in 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025. With this option, during the National Day holiday in 2025, civil servants and public employees will have 4 consecutive days off (including 2 National Day holidays and 2 weekly days off).
Regarding the holidays of Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, the Ministry of Education and Training agrees with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on swapping working days from Friday (May 2, 2025) to Saturday (April 26, 2025) so that civil servants and public employees can have the Victory Day holiday April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025 for 5 consecutive days from Wednesday, April 30, 2025 to Sunday, May 4, 2025 (working as a compensatory day on Saturday, April 26, 2025).
