The first time was in 1979, when England's Nottingham Forest beat Malmo, the Swedish representative, 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium.

In the second edition in 1993, Marseille won the Champions League by defeating AC Milan 1-0. To date, Marseille remains the only French team to have won the prestigious tournament. In the 2024/25 season, Luis Enrique's PSG are working hard to continue writing history for French football.

In 1997, the third final in Munich saw home side Dortmund surprise Juventus, the favourites and defending champions, with a score of 3-1. This victory was a huge shock in the history of European football at that time.

The last time was in 2012, Chelsea made history when they beat Bayern Munich right at the Allianz Arena in a penalty shootout. Didier Drogba became the hero of the match with an equalizer in the last minute of the second half. The former player then successfully converted his own penalty, bringing Chelsea their first Champions League title.

PSG are hoping to continue their story and become the latest champions in Munich. The Ligue 1 side reached the 2020 Champions League final against Bayern Munich, but suffered a 1-0 defeat.

Since Nasser Al-Khelaifi took over as President, PSG have invested heavily, spending more than 1 billion euros over the past 15 years to build a squad capable of competing with the European giants. However, the Champions League title has still eluded the Parisian capital team.

Admire PSG's 3 masterpieces against Aston Villa. Early morning of April 10, Aston Villa suffered a 1-3 defeat to PSG in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
