In the second round of the first round of SEA V.League held yesterday in Ratchasima (Thailand), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeated the Philippines team with a score of 3-1. This was the match in which coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet fielded his strongest lineup with Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen. Although the Philippines team played very well against Thailand in the previous match, they could not surprise the Vietnamese team. This team showed progress when they won 1 game against the Vietnamese team, but that was also the match in which coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet changed the lineup, fielded some new faces and withdrew the main scorer Bich Tuyen.

Sharing after the match with the Philippines team, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: "To be fair, the Philippines team when playing against the Vietnam team did not have the same high performance as in the previous match against Thailand. The key players of the Vietnam team still played quite well, thereby we achieved the goal of winning 3 points against the opponent while maintaining a stable mental state to look forward to the decisive match with the Thailand team."

Coaches assessed that the strength of the Thai women's volleyball team had significantly decreased when the number 1 scorer Chatchu-on was absent due to injury before the tournament. In addition, this team also suffered a loss of strength when setter Jaisan was also injured, and middle blocker Bamrungsuk had health problems. The number 1 women's volleyball team in Southeast Asia for many years also did not have the same depth of force as before. That was the reason why they struggled against the Philippines team in the opening match.

The decline of Thai volleyball is the reason why experts and fans expect the Vietnamese team to create an overthrow in the first stage of the SEA V.League. Because the Vietnamese team owns the most talented generation of players ever. In addition to the effective attacking duo Thanh Thuy and Bich Tuyen, the Vietnamese team is also strong in the sharp and fast attacks of Bich Thuy and Nguyen Thi Trinh. The defensive ability and attack coordination of the Vietnamese team are also more diverse and flexible than before.

Before the match with the Thai women's volleyball team, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared: "The important thing that the Vietnamese players need to solve is to maintain a stable mentality. They must play with the utmost tenacity and determination, and keep a cool head when competing against opponents who are supported by a large home audience. When they maintain a stable state, I believe they will be able to maximize their abilities and execute the technical and tactical moves that the coaching staff has given them."
