The match between Malaysia and Vietnam in the second round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers promises to be very exciting and decisive for the top spot in Group F.

Malaysia : With the home advantage of Bukit Jalil and high spirits after the 2-0 victory over Nepal, Malaysia will definitely aim to win all 3 points. They are showing great determination and may have special preparations in terms of personnel. Pressure from the home crowd will be a big factor in helping Malaysia gain more confidence.

Vietnam : After a resounding 5-0 victory over Laos, Vietnam also has some confidence. However, playing away at Bukit Jalil is never easy. Vietnam's strengths lie in disciplined play and teamwork. A draw can be considered a success for coach Kim Sang Sik and his team.

General comments:

This is considered the "early final" of Group F. Malaysia has home advantage and is eager to prove its strength. Meanwhile, Vietnam has a better history of confrontation but must compete under pressure in Kuala Lumpur.

A tight and uncompromising game is to be expected. The ability to take chances and the concentration of the defense will decide the outcome of the match. It is likely to be a low-scoring affair.

After winning the 2024 ASEAN Cup (AFF Cup) in Thailand, the Vietnamese team is looking forward to future goals such as the U23 Asian qualifiers or the 2025 SEA Games. The immediate goal is the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

In the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team are in Group F with Malaysia, Nepal and Laos. In this group, the "Golden Star Warriors" are rated the highest. Malaysia is considered the most formidable opponent of the Vietnamese team when it naturalized 7 quality players after the failure at the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

According to the tournament format, 24 teams will be divided into 6 groups of 4 teams each to play a round-robin home and away, from March 25 to March 31, 2025. Only the group winners will qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup finals in Saudi Arabia.

The matches in the 3rd qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup of Quang Hai and his teammates will start from March 25, 2025 to March 31, 2026.

During the FIFA Days in March 2025, the Vietnamese team will participate in two important matches at Go Dau Stadium, Binh Duong. This is an opportunity for coach Kim Sang Sik and his team to test the squad and prepare for upcoming tournaments.
