From May 28 to June 1, the Vietnam U16 team will participate in the CFA Team China 2025 Friendly Tournament in China.

At the 2025 CFA Team China International U16 Tournament, Vietnam U16 will meet Australia U16 (1:00 p.m. on May 28), China U16 (6:35 p.m. on May 30) and Saudi Arabia U16 (1:00 p.m. on June 1).

This is a friendly tournament, an international competition to help U16 Vietnam build its force towards the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers. All 3 opponents of U16 Vietnam are very strong, promising to bring useful lessons to young Vietnamese players.

To prepare for the tournament, coach Cristiano Roland and his team have been gathering since mid-May, having 3 practice matches with U17 Hanoi, Bac Ninh and U17 Viettel to perfect their playing style.

According to the list announced by coach Cristiano Roland, most of the players come from training centers with good achievements over the years such as PVF, The Cong - Viettel, Hanoi and Song Lam Nghe An.

Among them are goalkeeper Ly Xuan Hoa - Best goalkeeper of the 2024 National U15 Tournament, striker Nguyen Van Duong - Best player, Top scorer of the 2024 National U15 Tournament, midfielder Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc - who played as a starter for the Vietnam U17 team at the 2025 AFC U17 Championship.
