PSSI Vice President Zainudin Amali has revealed his intention to invite Portugal to Indonesia for a friendly match. PSSI has attracted attention by inviting 2022 World Cup champions Argentina to compete during FIFA Days this month.
Mr. Zainudin Amali also said that PSSI has contacted the Portuguese Football Federation. “ This year, we have 8 matches on FIFA Day. At least in 1 of those 8 matches, President Erick Thohir will invite a team of Argentina’s stature. We have a desire to invite the Portuguese team to play a friendly match ,” Mr. Zainudin Amali shared with the Indonesian press on June 26.

Zainudin Amali emphasized that he wants star Cristiano Ronaldo to participate in the friendly match with the Indonesian national team: " We hope Ronaldo does not retire before facing the Indonesian national team "
“ Besides, we want to invite teams like Morocco, Brazil, Spain and France. We will try to invite these teams but it will not be easy, ” Zainudin Amali continued.
Indonesia is ranked 149th in the world . This month, coach Shin Tae-yong and his team drew 0-0 with Palestine, ranked 93rd in the world (June 14). Five days later, Indonesia played a friendly match with Argentina, the world's number 1 team. Lionel Messi was absent from the match, but Argentina still showed their class when they won 2-0 against host Indonesia.
