2024 Mong ethnic arts and sports festival in Ham Yen district

The festival was attended by actors from 5 communes: Yen Lam, Minh Huong, Tan Thanh, Yen Thuan, Yen Phu. The participating units performed singing, dancing, solo playing of Mong ethnic musical instruments, folk songs, folk dances praising the Party, Uncle Ho; love for nature, homeland, country, love between couples, love in labor and production; singing about aspirations and dreams of happiness... bearing the unique identity of the Mong people.

At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to Yen Lam Commune, 2 Second Prizes to Tan Thanh and Minh Huong Communes, 2 Third Prizes to Yen Phu and Yen Thuong Communes. At the same time, prizes were awarded in many competitions and performances.

This is a meaningful activity to preserve, conserve and promote the traditional cultural values and sports of the Mong community in the district, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people of all ethnic groups in the district in general and the Mong people in particular; encouraging people to actively respond to and participate in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" at the grassroots level, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, encouraging the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, enthusiasm for work and production of the people of all ethnic groups in the district.

Currently, the Mong people in Ham Yen have more than 450 households with nearly 2,800 people living in 9/18 communes and towns. In which, they are concentrated in Yen Lam, Minh Huong, Yen Phu, Tan Thanh communes. The Mong people have constantly created, preserved and developed unique cultural features in the cultural life of their people, especially the decorative art on the costumes of the Mong Hoa people in Tuyen Quang province has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Before that, the Organizing Committee organized a number of sports activities typical of the Mong ethnic group such as: spinning, crossbow shooting, stick pushing, and tug of war.
