The Manchester team is considering recruiting Watkins or Benjamin Sesko, to complete the attack before the 2025/26 season starts.

One name that the Red Devils' boss has removed from the target list is Nicolas Jackson - who Chelsea really wants to sell after bringing in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

With any successful transfer move, MU will liquidate Rasmus Hojlund, not send him on short-term loan like Rashford.

According to British press sources, MU has contacted representatives of both Watkins and Sesko. Experience in the Premier League is a plus for the striker currently playing for Aston Villa.

Ollie Watkins has scored 75 Premier League goals since moving to Villa Park. However, the England striker is approaching his 30th birthday.

Aston Villa are demanding £60m for the deal, which is still a high figure considering Watkins has little resale value in the future.

Sesko is young and has great potential, and is being chased by Newcastle. RB Leipzig are ready to let the Slovenian striker go if they receive an offer of around £70 million.

In another development, MU will not pursue Donnarumma even though this goalkeeper is at an impasse in contract extension negotiations with PSG.
