Young athletes actively practice before the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 tournament
Hoang Hai Nam (born in 2016, student of Duc Giang Primary School, Viet Hung Ward, Hanoi ) is a familiar face in the Aqua Warriors tournament, having participated in two Kids Aqua Warriors events at Aqua Warriors Van Don 2024 and Aqua Warriors Halong Bay 2025.

However, Hai Nam's achievement was not recognized due to the shirtless offense during the competition and the Organizing Committee stripped him of his gold medal (Photo: The Nam).
At the tournament held in Van Don ( Quang Ninh ) last September, Hai Nam won the bronze medal in the Kids Aqua Warriors category for men. And at the most recent tournament in April, Hoang Hai Nam won first place, but the athlete born in 2016 was not recognized by the Organizing Committee for his achievement due to a violation (taking off his shirt during the competition as well as at the finish line), thereby regrettably missing out on the gold medal.
However, that missed gold medal only increased the motivation for Hoang Hai Nam to be determined to do it again at the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 tournament which will take place on August 2. However, this time Hai Nam will not participate in the Kids Aqua Warriors event but will move up to compete in the Junior Aqua Warriors event and is predicted to have a much more difficult time competing with many strong opponents.

"Therefore, I have to invest in nutrition as well as maintain a regular weekly training schedule for him to have enough ability to compete. Currently, he is very excited to practice with the goal of being able to stand on the podium at the upcoming tournament," said Mr. Hoang Van Hien, coach of the Viet Hung ward swimming team and also Hoang Hai Nam's father.
Mr. Hien said that to prepare well for the tournament, Hai Nam will maintain a regular swimming and running schedule every day. Accordingly, Hai Nam will have 2 hours of swimming in the morning and in the afternoon and evening he will do supplementary exercises as well as running.

"Every week, I have to practice regularly from Monday to Friday and rest for two days on the weekend to recover my physical strength. In each swimming session, I have to swim about 3km to 4km, and in each running session, I will run about 4km. In terms of performance parameters, I swim 50m in a time of 36 seconds, and in the running event, I maintain a pace of 5 minutes to 6 minutes per km," Mr. Hien added.
Notably, Mr. Hoang Van Hien also emphasized the appeal and excitement of the upcoming tournament in Quang Tri: "I find this tournament to be organized on a large scale and professionally. This is an extremely useful playground for all athletes who are passionate about swimming, running and cycling."
From August 2 to August 3, the new Quang Tri province (formed after the merger of Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces) will welcome multi-sport events: Aqua Warriors Quang Tri and Quang Tri International Marathon.
For two consecutive days, three endurance sports including open water swimming, Aquathlon and Marathon will take place, marking a major turning point in the economic and tourism development orientation of this historic land.
On August 2, hundreds of athletes will immerse themselves in the ocean at Aqua Warriors Quang Tri, testing their skills in the blue waters of Bao Ninh beach, Dong Hoi in open water swimming and the challenging aquathlon swimming-running event.
On August 3, the heat continued to spread with the Quang Tri International Marathon bringing thousands of runners across the beautiful roads of Dong Hoi, imbued with history, culture and nature.
This year's tournament includes 4 distances: 5km, 10km, 21km (Half Marathon) and 42km (Full Marathon), suitable for many different ages, physical conditions and training goals. Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in a large-scale, professional, well-organized tournament, which can become part of the journey to promote the image of Quang Tri to the domestic and international community.
