Mrs. Tinh was treated like a stranger by Luyen.
In episode 10 of the film "Life is still beautiful" aired on the evening of April 24, Mrs. Tinh (Meritorious Artist Thanh Quy) was miserable because Luyen (Thanh Huong) did not let her into the house and had to sit on the porch. Mrs. Tinh confided to Luu (Hoang Hai): "Where else can I go, uncle? Now I don't even have a house anymore, I don't even have a son, I'm old and alone like this."
Luyen decided to break up with her mother-in-law.
Meeting Luyen, Mrs. Tinh begged: "Luyen, now I don't know where to go. Why don't you let me stay with you, I will share the money". However, Luyen still decided to break up with her mother-in-law: "My son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, you should go find them and live with them so they can be happy, they are your flesh and blood. As for me, I am just a stranger".
Even though Luu advised her to be kind and considerate, Luyen still refused to let Ms. Tinh into the house.
Feeling sorry for Mrs. Tinh's situation, Luu let her stay overnight. When mentioning her son, Mrs. Tinh burst into tears and said to Luu: "Now I consider that I don't have him anymore, I only feel sorry for Luyen. These past few days, I've been thinking hard and foolishly, I just want to die. But my damned son, I can't make up for him in any way, I have to try to live to pay his debt."
Luu advised Mrs. Tinh to find her son and live together, but Mrs. Tinh was worried about Luyen so she didn't want to leave: "If I leave, she will be left alone, if the weather changes, who will she rely on?"
Living alone in the empty, dilapidated house, Luyen remembers the difficult days when her biological parents wrote a disowning letter, leaving only Mrs. Tinh as her only relative. Luyen cries for her fate and for Mrs. Tinh.
Although Luyen treated her like a stranger, Mrs. Tinh still cared for her daughter-in-law wholeheartedly.
Luyen feels there is no future.
Ms. Hoa (Anh Tho), the owner of Luyen's shop, advised Luyen to love her mother-in-law, and Mrs. Tinh stayed because she loved Luyen. But Luyen immediately dismissed her: "Even if I love her, she's still a stranger. That bastard has a new wife, what does it have to do with me?". Ms. Hoa sympathized with Mrs. Tinh, and continued to persuade Luyen: "She's a stranger, but she's good to you. Like your biological parents, have they ever paid any attention to you in the past 5 years?"
Touched by her pain, Luyen coldly replied: "I know, a girl like me was exploited by her biological parents for every penny, and if she couldn't get it, they beat and abandoned her. I'm very grateful to have someone who cares, worries, and shares my hardships with me. Unfortunately, my fortune only goes so far. Seeing her, I felt both pity and anger, but I also felt very hurt. I felt like I had been deceived for the past 5 years, so I decided to end all ties."
Luyen invited Hoa to go shopping to clear her mind, determined to invest in clothes, not to let anyone look down on her. However, when the store owner announced that the clothes Luyen chose cost 3.5 million VND, Luyen got angry and called the salesperson a "robber", forcing Hoa to apologize.
Hoa took Luyen out to eat and encouraged her, "No matter how sad you are, you have to warm your stomach first," but Luyen just drank and cried. Crying for her fate, Luyen confided to Hoa, "There's no tomorrow in my life now. I'm almost 40 years old, there's no tomorrow."
Luyen was heartbroken and cried for her fate.
In another development, after fighting with Luyen, Binh (Minh Cuc) spoke ill of her "love rival". She said: "Serves Luyen right. She flirts with so many men, no wonder her husband left her. If she didn't have any teeth or venom, how could her husband have disappeared for 5 years?"
Seeing the old man defending Luyen, Binh continued to make up stories: "Do you know what? This time she got a big win. If Luyen lets her husband go back to his new wife? It's worth a billion!"
Does Luyen really have no more love for her mother-in-law? Will Mrs. Tinh and her son pay back Luyen's debt? The answer will be in the next episodes of "Life is still beautiful" broadcast weekly on VTV3.
