Important milestones candidates need to remember
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training , nearly 850,000 candidates have entered their wishes into the system, an increase of more than 115,000 compared to last year (including candidates applying for vocational colleges). In total, there are about 7.6 million wishes for university and college admission in 2025, showing that on average, a candidate registers nearly 9 wishes. Notably, more than 310,000 candidates, equivalent to 26.7% of the total 1.16 million candidates, missed the opportunity to enter university and college this year.
After the registration and adjustment of wishes phase, from July 29 to 5:00 p.m. on August 5, candidates must complete the payment of the admission fee according to the number of wishes registered. The payment of fees is done online according to detailed instructions from the Ministry of Education and Training.
The next important phase is from August 16 to August 20, the Ministry of Education and Training will process admission requests (virtual filtering) throughout the system. By 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will enter admission scores and admission results into the system, and at the same time review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results.

Thus, from the afternoon of August 20, universities can start announcing official benchmark scores. The first round of admission results must be announced no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
After knowing the admission score, all successful candidates (including direct candidates) are required to confirm their admission on the Ministry of Education and Training system (if they wish to study). The final deadline to complete this process is before 5:00 p.m. on August 30. Failure to confirm admission on time will mean that the candidate will refuse the opportunity to be admitted in the first round.
For candidates who have not been admitted or need to apply for additional rounds, they can follow the admission information posted on the official admission information page of each training institution, expected from September 1 to December.
Floor scores of many schools have decreased sharply, opening up opportunities for candidates
Up to now, more than 200 universities nationwide have announced the admission floor scores for 2025. In general, this year's floor scores of many schools have decreased sharply compared to previous years. Even "hot" majors with high admission scores in previous admission seasons such as Information Technology, Data Science , Artificial Intelligence... have all decreased their floor scores, with some majors even decreasing by up to 6 points compared to 2024.
Among the announced schools, the Diplomatic Academy and Saigon University are the two leading schools with majors requiring a minimum score of up to 25 points. On the other hand, Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City has set a minimum score for university admission based on the high school graduation exam score of 12 points, the lowest score in the country to date, creating conditions for many candidates wishing to study at university.
Candidates and parents should proactively look up the admission floor scores of schools to have an overview and best prepare for the next steps.
