VietNamNetVietNamNet26/06/2023

The Ministry of Transport has just sent a document to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province regarding investment in transport infrastructure in the area, including investment in upgrading Ca Mau airport.

Previously, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province proposed that the Ministry of Transport invest in upgrading Ca Mau airport to meet 4C airport standards, meeting the exploitation of A320 and A321 aircraft.

In response to this proposal, the Ministry of Transport said that Ca Mau airport currently meets 3C airport standards, meeting the requirements for operating ATR 72 aircraft and equivalent.

According to the plan, by 2020, the 3C airport level and existing infrastructure of Ca Mau airport will be maintained. By 2030, it will be upgraded to a 4C domestic airport.

The Ministry of Transport said that the repair of the runway, landing strip and taxiway of Ca Mau airport has been implemented by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). Currently, the airport can receive some types of Embraer aircraft operating on medium-haul routes, helping to connect Ca Mau with major centers across the country.

On April 29, an airline opened a direct flight route from Hanoi to Ca Mau with a frequency of 3 flights/week, helping passengers shorten travel time between the two ends of the country.
