Many universities in the South have announced the minimum admission scores for 2025 based on high school graduation exam scores and capacity assessments. The highest current minimum score is up to 24 points.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities expects the minimum score for admission methods to be 18-20.

This floor score applies to the following methods: Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school exam ; Priority for admission of students from 149 high schools according to the list prescribed by Ho Chi Minh City National University; Priority for direct admission of the best candidates of high schools in 2025; Priority for admission of students who are members of provincial and municipal teams participating in the national excellent student exam or winning first, second, third, or consolation prizes in provincial and municipal excellent student exams; candidates with achievements in social, artistic, and sports activities.

For the admission method based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam, the minimum score is 620 or higher.

The University of Information Technology also announced the minimum scores for admission methods. In particular, the minimum scores for admission based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam are from 700 points or higher, which is eligible for admission to all majors of the school.

Admission scores include exam scores, bonus points and priority points, of which the maximum bonus point is 120 points for candidates with international language certificates according to the school's regulations.

For the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the expected floor score for all majors is from 22.5 and above. For the Microchip Design major, the floor score is 24.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology applies a comprehensive admission method for the majority of candidates along with the direct admission method according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school's regulations. In which, the direct admission method according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school's regulations only accounts for 1-5% of the total quota. The comprehensive admission method includes criteria on academic ability, other abilities, and social activities, accounting for 95-99% of the total quota.

The admission formula includes academic performance and priority points. Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has set the minimum score for the admission method based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam at 16 points for all majors. The admission score is calculated by the total score of the three subjects in the admission combination (without multiplying the coefficient), not including priority points according to region or subject.

Mr. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center, said that the determination of this floor score is based on the fact that the average score of this year's high school exam tends to decrease slightly, especially in groups with English subjects - because the exam questions are considered to have a higher classification.

Mr. Son predicted that this year's benchmark scores for some majors could decrease by 0.5 to 1.5 points compared to 2024. Therefore, the 16-point threshold was introduced to expand admission opportunities for candidates, while still ensuring input quality in line with training requirements.

For the admission method using the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University, the minimum score is 600 points for all majors. For the Law group, the minimum score is 720 points, while the minimum Vietnamese score is 180 points and the minimum Math score is 180 points. The application of special conditions for the Law major is explained as ensuring language proficiency and logical thinking - key factors in the training program of this major.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry announced that the minimum admission score for general majors based on the competency assessment test organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University is 650 points and for majors with English enhancement programs is 600 points. For the law major group, the minimum admission score is 720 points, while the Vietnamese component in the competency assessment test is at least 180 points and the math component is at least 180 points.

With the method of considering 12th grade transcripts combined with outstanding achievements, the minimum score is 21 points, only Pharmacy accepts applications from 24 points and has a good 12th grade academic performance. For the Law group, the minimum admission score for Math and Literature is 6.0.
