In 2025, the "wave" of Chinese cars will continue to flourish in Vietnam with the appearance of a number of new brands. Below are some names that have been revealed, even appeared in Vietnam, just waiting for the day to "go public".
Zeekr X
In 2024, Tasco Auto successfully negotiated the right to distribute Zeekr cars in Vietnam. This is a pure electric brand of the Geely Group from China, which may be officially introduced to Vietnamese customers in 2025.
In Zeekr's product line, the Zeekr X model is likely to be brought to Vietnam. This electric vehicle line is positioned in the C-SUV segment, and will compete directly with VinFast VF 7, BYD Atto 3 or gasoline/diesel models of the same size such as: Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, or Ford Territory.

The configuration of the Zeekr X for the Vietnamese market has not been revealed. In China, the car has 2 options of 4 seats or 5 seats, with a single motor placed on the rear axle or 2 electric motors placed on the front and rear axles.
With the dual electric motor option, the Zeekr has a total maximum capacity of 422 horsepower and a maximum torque of 543Nm. The included battery pack has a capacity of 66kWh, allowing a maximum travel of 500-512km depending on the version, after each full charge.
Geely Coolray
As part of the cooperation agreement between Tasco Auto and Geely, Coolray is expected to be brought to Vietnam soon. This model is known as Proton X50 in Malaysia, or Geely Binyue in China.
With a length of 4,330mm, width of 1,800mm and height of 1,609mm, Geely Coolray is classified in the B-size urban SUV segment. This group of cars is receiving great attention from Vietnamese customers, with outstanding products such as Mitsubishi Xforce or Toyota Yaris Cross.
It is known that the first batch of Geely Coolray cars, including 200 units, were exported from Malaysia and are on their way to Vietnam (Photo: Top Gear Philippines).
The equipment of Geely Coolray for the Vietnamese market has not been revealed. If similar to Malaysia, this model will be equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine, combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, producing a maximum capacity of 175 horsepower and 255Nm of torque.
BYD Sealion 6
The dealer shared that BYD Sealion 6 is expected to launch in Vietnam in March. Unlike previously launched products, Sealion 6 is not a pure electric car but a plug-in hybrid (or PHEV).
This Chinese car model is positioned in the C-SUV segment, with an overall appearance quite similar to its "brother" BYD Atto 3. However, the design of Sealion 6 is somewhat sportier .
Information about the BYD Sealion 6 has appeared on the Vietnam Register. The registered energy label shows that the vehicle has a tested consumption of 1.1 liters/100km (Photo: The Driven).
In terms of performance, the BYD Sealion 6 is equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine with a capacity of 105 horsepower, combined with a 195 horsepower electric motor. In the international market, this configuration will be combined with a Blade battery pack with a capacity of 18.3kWh, giving the car an operating range of up to 92km in pure electric mode and 1,092km when combined with hybrid.
Also according to the dealer, BYD Sealion 6 is expected to have a selling price of about 700-800 million VND and is expected to attract the attention of Vietnamese customers, in the context that pure electric products from this brand have not found a breakthrough.
However, participating in the C-SUV segment brings many challenges for BYD Sealion 6. This group of cars is attracting Vietnamese customers, but attention is focused on outstanding products such as Mazda CX-5 or Ford Territory.
Baojun E100, Yep and Yep Plus
At the end of 2024, TMT Motors confirmed that it will distribute 3 more electric car models from Baojun in the near future, possibly this year. This is a subsidiary brand, under the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture in China.
Among them, Baojun E100 is the smallest electric car model, designed with 2 seats and expected to cost around 150 million VND. The car is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum capacity of 39 horsepower and a maximum torque of 110Nm, with a maximum speed of 100km/h. The maximum operating range is up to 200km, thanks to a battery pack with a capacity of 14.9kWh.

Next, Baojun Yep is the name that the dealer revealed in early 2024. This model has received attention from Vietnamese customers, because it is considered a direct competitor of VinFast VF 3 and also has a high-chassis, angular design.
This Chinese electric car is equipped with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle, with a capacity of 67 horsepower and a maximum torque of 140Nm. The included LFP battery pack has a capacity of 28.1kWh, allowing a maximum travel of 301km after each full charge, charging time at home with a 220V power source is 8 hours.
Baojun Yep also has a 2-door, 4-seat design. The car is expected to be priced at around 300 million VND (Photo: Top Gear).
Finally, the Baojun Yep Plus is the 5-door version of the Yep line. The overall design of the car is no different from its "younger brother", it is expected to have 2 versions and the selling price ranges from 409-449 million VND.
Unlike the Yep, the Baojun Yep Plus is equipped with an electric motor on the front axle, producing 103 horsepower and 180Nm, for a maximum speed of up to 150km/h. The included battery pack has a capacity of 41.9kWh, allowing the car to travel up to 401km after each full charge.
It is unclear whether the Baojun E100, Yep and Yep Plus will be assembled or imported completely from China (Photo: GM).
GWM Wey 80, Tank 300 and Haval Jolion
Haval dealers said that the GWM Wey 80 will probably be launched in Vietnam at the end of the first quarter, along with two other "late" names, the GWM Tank 300 and Haval Jolion. The Chinese car is positioned in the large MPV segment with an expected price of 2.5 billion VND, competing directly with the Kia Carnival, Volkswagen Viloran or GAC M8.
With a high price, the GWM Wey 80's equipment is quite modern and complete, with the highlight being the second row of business-class seats. The car's powertrain is a plug-in hybrid, including a 1.5L, 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 154 horsepower, combined with 2 electric motors placed on the front and rear axles, with a power of 174 horsepower and 181 horsepower respectively.
When combined with gasoline and electricity, the car's powertrain produces a total of 480 horsepower and 762Nm. The accompanying battery pack is a ternary lithium type, with a capacity of 37.96kWh, providing a maximum range of 140km in pure electric driving mode.

Regarding the GWM Tank 300, it is expected that this model will have 2 versions with a selling price ranging from 1.4-1.7 billion VND, according to the dealer. This price is quite high compared to the general level of the D-size SUV segment, for example, Ford Everest is currently priced between 1.099-1.545 billion VND, or Hyundai Santa Fe is priced from 1.069 billion to 1.365 billion VND.
The gasoline version of the Tank 300 for the Vietnamese market will likely use a 2.0L turbocharged engine, producing a maximum capacity of 227 horsepower and a maximum torque of 380Nm. The hybrid variant may use a 2.0L turbocharged engine (240 horsepower, 380Nm) combined with an electric motor (104 horsepower, 268Nm).

Finally, Haval Jolion was brought to the dealer system from November 2024, but the launch date has not been set yet. This model is in the B+ crossover segment, competing directly with Toyota Corolla Cross or Mazda CX-30.
Jolion will likely be distributed in 2 versions and only have a hybrid option, including a 1.5L gasoline engine combined with an electric motor, producing 187 horsepower and 375Nm. The car's selling price is expected to be around 700-800 million VND.
