On July 10, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy - Director of the Long An Provincial Tax Department - sent a notice to the police and provincial departments, branches, organizations, and People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities requesting coordination in detecting and handling acts of forging invitations and notices from tax authorities.
Fake invitation to tax office in Long An
According to the Long An Provincial Tax Department, recently, the Provincial Tax Department discovered a number of subjects impersonating tax authorities to send notices and invitations to taxpayers (mainly individuals and business households) to the tax authority to update and declare information on tax reduction and refund policies...
Long An Provincial Tax Department confirmed that these notices and invitations were not issued by the tax authority, were not in the correct document format, did not have the correct signature of the leader, and had forged the tax authority's seal.
At the same time, people are advised to be vigilant. Because with these actions, if taxpayers do not consider carefully, it is easy to mistake them for being requested by the tax authority and follow the instructions, creating opportunities for impersonators to steal personal information and bank account information to appropriate assets.
On the other hand, taxpayers mistakenly believe that tax officials are providing guidance and this affects the reputation of the tax authority.
"Recently, fake invitations have been discovered from the Tax Departments of Tan An - Thu Thua, Duc Hoa - Duc Hue, Can Giuoc - Can Duoc,..." - Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy informed.
In response to the appearance of these fake notices and invitations, the Long An Provincial Tax Department informs and requests all levels and sectors to coordinate in propagating and warning people and businesses in the province to proactively prevent and not follow the requests of the fake subjects.
At the same time, it is recommended that people and businesses, if they discover a case of a subject using the above methods and tricks or suspect that they are impersonating tax authorities or tax officials, absolutely do not do it but contact the nearest competent authority or the Tax Department (via hotline number 0272.3553695) for support and timely measures to prevent and resolve.
