On the afternoon of September 10, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong informed that on the morning of September 10, a terrible flash flood occurred in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.

Initial information shows that the flash flood buried the entire Lang Nu village where 35 households and 128 people reside.

Immediately after receiving the information, the district's rescue force and local forces responded.

By 6:00 p.m. the same day, more than 30 injured and surviving people had been identified, the bodies of 15 victims had been found, and many others were still missing.

Bao Yen district is taking advantage of the time to urgently mobilize forces to approach the landslide area and search for missing people.

The area where the flash flood occurred is far from the center, traffic is cut off, and communication is completely lost, so rescue and relief work is facing many difficulties./.
