On September 23, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Provincial Armed Forces' Traditional Day and receive the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of National Defense; Colonel Tran Minh Trong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 5; Comrade Ta Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee and former leaders of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces...

Exactly 80 years ago, after the victory of the August Revolution, on September 23, 1945, the Viet Minh Provincial Committee decided to establish the Dak Lak Provincial Military Committee, with the core being the N'Trang Long Liberation Battalion and appointed comrade Phan Kiem as the Head of the Committee. This was a historical milestone, marking the birth of the Dak Lak Provincial Armed Forces.

Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan read a speech reviewing the 80th anniversary of the Provincial Armed Forces' Traditional Day.

Over 80 years of building, fighting and growing, with many different forms and names, the armed forces of Dak Lak province have always shown their revolutionary nature, born from the people, fighting for the people, making many contributions to the previous wars of national liberation and in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today. Inheriting and promoting the tradition of "Determination to fight, determination to win", the armed forces of the province have been honored by the Party and the State with many noble awards such as the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces", the Gold Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order, the Military Exploit Order and thousands of collectives and individuals have been awarded various orders and medals.

Recognizing the outstanding results and typical achievements of the armed forces of Dak Lak province over the past 80 years, on behalf of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at the ceremony, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung awarded the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command for its outstanding achievements in training, combat readiness, building the People's Army, consolidating national defense, contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland.

General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, sent a congratulatory letter to generations of officers, employees and soldiers of the province's armed forces.

With 80 glorious years, the armed forces of Dak Lak province have continuously promoted the noble qualities of " Uncle Ho's soldiers ", continued the tradition, and excellently completed all tasks assigned by the Party, State and Army in the new revolutionary period.
