Bodybuilder Pham Van Mach won the Gold Medal at the 2023 World Bodybuilding Championship in Korea, the 6th time he has won the title at this arena.
The 2023 World Bodybuilding Championships will be held in Gangwon, South Korea from November 9 to 11. The tournament will bring together more than 400 athletes from 60 countries and territories around the world. The Vietnamese team will compete with 20 athletes.
On the very first day of competition, athlete Pham Van Mach brought home a Gold Medal for Vietnam in the men's 55kg category. This is one of the most meaningful World Gold Medals for athlete Pham Van Mach personally because in terms of achievements in his international competition career, it is the 6th time this athlete has won the championship in the men's 55kg category at the world tournament. This achievement of the athlete from An Giang is even more impressive because he is 47 years old this year.

Previously, Pham Van Mach was an 8-time Asian champion, including 7 consecutive times from 2004 to 2012. He also won 4 SEA Games Gold Medals.
In addition to Pham Van Mach's achievements, Vietnamese bodybuilding also succeeded in many other events at the 2023 World Championship. Bodybuilder Tran Bao Quoc Vuong won the Gold Medal in the 65kg category, Ho Huy Binh won the men's 70kg category. Dinh Kim Loan won the women's 55kg category and Nguyen Thi Kim Dung won the women's fitniss Gold Medal.
The team also won 5 Silver Medals thanks to Bui Dac Phi Vu (bodybuilding, men's 55 kg category), Truong Hoang Long (bodybuilding, youth 75 kg men's category), Bui Thi Thoa (bodybuilding, women's over 55 kg category), Tran Hoang Duy Thuan (men's fitness), Tran Thi Cam Tu (women's fitness)./.
