According to data released by digital travel platform Agoda on July 16, Vietnam tourism has received significant interest from tourists from Poland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, after the visa exemption policy for citizens from these three countries was announced.
According to Agoda, the number of searches for accommodation in Vietnam from Poland has skyrocketed by 306%, the Czech Republic by 155% and Switzerland by 68% compared to the same period last year. This statistic is based on accommodation searches on the Agoda platform from January 1 to June 23, 2025 for stays between March 1 and December 31, 2025. This is also the time when Vietnam applies a temporary visa exemption policy.
The visa exemption policy, effective from March 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, allows international visitors for tourism purposes to stay in Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days. This opens up opportunities for European tourists to explore the diverse destinations of the beautiful S-shaped country. Among them, the number of interested Polish tourists has increased the most.
The initiative is part of Vietnam’s efforts to attract international visitors and boost tourism, simplifying complicated visa application procedures and related fees, thereby making it easier for more tourists to explore the unique cultural beauty, majestic natural landscapes and colorful vibrancy of Vietnam’s provinces and cities.

During the visa exemption period, the most popular destinations for tourists from these markets included Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc Island and Nha Trang. Each location offers unique experiences and different perspectives on Vietnam.
Famous for its golden sand beaches and unique Dragon Bridge, Da Nang city is the first gateway before tourists travel to cultural heritage sites such as the Marble Mountains and the ancient town of Hoi An.
Ho Chi Minh City is bustling with a mix of modern buildings and famous historical landmarks such as the Cu Chi tunnels, along with a unique street food scene.
The capital Hanoi attracts tourists with its thousand-year-old Old Quarter, poetic Hoan Kiem Lake and centuries-old temples.

Phu Quoc Pearl Island is an ideal tropical resort paradise with pristine beaches, lush green forests and world-class resorts.
The coastal city of Nha Trang is famous for its unique clear beaches, vibrant nightlife and exciting water sports such as scuba diving and snorkeling.
The visa-free policy brings Poland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic into the group of European countries that enjoy visa-free entry to the fast-growing Southeast Asian nation. Previously, the group included Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda in Vietnam, shared: Vietnam's visa exemption policy is a great step forward, making it easier for European tourists to explore the charming beauty of Vietnam, experience the unique blend of culture, nature and hospitality here. This is good news for both tourists and the tourism industry.
The increase in searches shows that Vietnam is becoming an ideal destination to meet a variety of travel interests, from cultural exploration to relaxing beach holidays, said Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam.
