5 methods of recruitment

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry will enroll full-time university and college students in preschooleducation according to 5 methods.

Method 1 : Direct admission and priority admission. Candidates register for admission according to current admission regulations, before 5:00 p.m. on June 30.

Method 2 : Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025 (This method is not used for admission to preschool education at college and university levels).

Method 3 : Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam. For preschool education (college and university level), admission is based on: high school graduation exam scores of 2 subjects (math, literature) and aptitude test scores.

Method 4 : Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam, adding or replacing a subject in the admission combination with high school study results. Specifically, the school will consider admission based on the scores of 2 subjects in the 2025 high school graduation exam in the admission combination and the remaining subject will use the transcript score. The transcript score is the average score of 6 semesters in 3 years of high school (this additional or replacement subject cannot be math or literature). This method also does not apply to admission to preschool education.

Method 5 : Admission based on high school academic results (review of transcripts). Specifically, using the average score of 3 years of high school for each subject in the admission combination (majors at the Ho Chi Minh City campus only consider candidates graduating from high school in 2025). For preschool education, the average score of 3 years of high school for 2 subjects of math and literature is used in combination with the results of the aptitude test.

4.5 IELTS is converted to 8 points in English

Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry allows candidates to use international English certificates to convert into English subject scores in the admission combination with admission methods 3 and 5.

The certificates used include IELTS or TOEFL ITP, which are valid until the date the candidate begins to register for admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Specifically, the IELTS test score must be 4.5 or higher, the certificate issuer includes: British Council (BC) or International Development Program (IDP); TOEFL ITP test score must be 450 or higher, the certificate issuer is Educational Testing Service (ETS).

From IELTS 4.5, candidates are converted to 8 points in English. The specific conversion table is as follows:

Entry threshold for teacher training

The 2025 university and college admission regulations for preschool education of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, which have just been issued, also stipulate the entrance threshold for teacher training.

The entrance threshold for teacher training announced by the Ministry of Education and Training for regular training admission methods using high school graduation exam results.

For admission to other formal training forms or admission methods that do not use high school graduation exam results, candidates meet the entrance threshold for university-level teacher training when their academic results for the entire 12th grade year are assessed as good (academic performance is ranked from excellent or higher) or their high school graduation score is 8.0 or higher; their academic results for the entire 12th grade year are assessed as fair (academic performance is ranked from fair or higher) or their high school graduation score is 6.5 or higher for college-level preschool education.

Candidates who have graduated from intermediate level or higher in the same major group, the entrance threshold for teacher training majors is applied with one of the following criteria: The academic results of the entire 12th grade year are assessed as good (academic performance is ranked from excellent or higher) or the average score of all high school cultural subjects is from 8.0 or higher; Graduated from high school with excellent or higher or the academic results of the entire 12th grade year are assessed as fair (academic performance is ranked from good) and have 3 years of work experience in the training major; Graduated from intermediate, college, university with excellent or higher; Graduated from intermediate or college level with good and have 3 years of work experience in the training major.

Also related to teacher training, a point in Article 8 of the admission regulations on direct admission and priority admission to Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry states: "Candidates with a good intermediate degree in pedagogy or higher, or a good intermediate degree in pedagogy and at least 2 years of work in the right field, are considered for direct admission to the college-level preschool education program."
