People's Artist Thao Van and the delegation visited Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Area located in Luong Hoa Commune, Giong Trom District, Ben Tre Province.
In the hometown of General Nguyen Thi Dinh, People's Artist Thao Van sang a vọng cổ verse in the cải lương play "Lội tự tình quê hương", the role of a heroic Vietnamese mother that helped her win a gold medal at the 2005 National Professional Cải lương Theatre Festival.
"Ben Tre is my maternal hometown, from here I became attached to Southern amateur music, then devoted myself to acting. Born into a family that has been associated with the art of Southern amateur music since childhood, People's Artist Thao Van was taught by her father, Mr. Ba Loc (a famous artist in Soc Trang ), how to sing to the rhythm of the instrument, and then taught "three south, six north". At the age of 17, she won the first prize in the mass art movement of Thanh Tri district, Soc Trang province, and from then on officially pursued an acting career.
Returning to her mother's hometown to join the Ben Tre Opera Troupe, the role of Thao Suong was the first leading role in the play "Take me back to my mother's hometown" (played by Hoang Ngoc An) which helped her gain the love of the public. After that, she joined the Thap Muoi Opera Troupe, singing the main roles in plays by playwright Yen Lang such as: "Autumn at Bach Ma Son", "Cold Night at the Deserted Pagoda"...

In 1996, artist Thao Van worked at Tay Do Theater. On this stage, her talent shone brightly, and she was trusted by directors and assigned to play many good roles. She won 4 gold medals at national professional cai luong theater festivals such as: "Legend of a Love" - role of Hien (2000); "Words from the Homeland" - role of a heroic Vietnamese mother (2005); "Our Mother" - role of Mrs. Sau (2009); "Debts from the Suburbs" - role of Mrs. Tu (2012). People's Artist Thao Van was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist by the State in 2009 and the title of People's Artist in 2012.

In 2017, People's Artist Thao Van retired but continued to be a judge for the "Moc Quan Nguyen Trong Quyen" contest, selecting Cai Luong singers from Can Tho City. Over the past several years, when the stage was in a difficult situation, People's Artist Thao Van left Can Tho City to live with her daughter in Ben Tre. To earn more income, she worked as a wedding dress rental company.

That was the self-pity and also the heart of comedian Vu Quang when the group visited him in Cho Hamlet, Thoi Lai Commune, Binh Dai District, Ben Tre. After the stroke, he was paralyzed in both legs.

Coming from a family with a tradition of performing in the Cai Luong theater, all of his siblings are attached to the singing profession. Comedian Vu Quang was taught the profession by good teachers, so from a young age he knew how to perform Hat Boi, Cai Luong Ho Quang, and Cai Luong Tuong Co. He has more than 10 years of experience writing scripts, working as deputy head of the art troupe and doing staging work.
"Now I just hope to have the health to continue working, but with paralyzed legs like this, it's hard to satisfy my wish" - comedian Vu Quang sadly said.
