Marvel Announces Main Cast for 'The Fantastic Four'

Pascal, who recently received an Emmy nomination for his starring role in HBO's The Last of Us , will play Reed Richards, aka Mr Fantastic, in his first appearance in the Marvel superhero universe. Kirby, who most recently appeared alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Napoleon, will play Richards' girlfriend Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman.

Moss-Bachrach, who won an Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy series last month for The Bear , will be Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. Joseph Quinn, who rose to fame as Eddie in Stranger Things , will be Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch.

The characters were previously brought to the big screen in 2005 and a sequel in 2007, starring Chris Evans and Jessica Alba. Both films grossed a combined $630 million worldwide .

There was also another version in 2015 with Michael B Jordan and Miles Teller joining the cast, but it was a critical and commercial failure.

The film is about a quartet of superheroes with different powers, but so far the latest adaptation script has not been revealed. These are the first characters created for Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

In the comic book version, the Fantastic Four are astronauts who turn into superheroes after being exposed to cosmic rays in space.

The film will be directed by Matt Shakman, who is known primarily for his hit TV series WandaVision , Succession , and The Great.

Moss-Bachrach will soon appear in the third season of The Bear , airing this summer. While Quinn is expected to appear in both Gladiator 2 and A Quiet Place: Day One.

This new work is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025. Thus, this is the latest work after The Marvels released in late 2023 as well as Madame Web opened last week.
