This year's Michelin Guide announcement ceremony is scheduled to take place in Da Nang on Thursday, June 5, marking the third year Michelin has appeared in Vietnam and awarded stars to restaurants.
Instead of expanding to other cities, this year, Michelin Guide continues to look for "gems" which are restaurants and eateries in 3 big cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

At this year's event, the list of dining establishments announced by Michelin Guide includes the following categories: Michelin Guide Special Awards; Michelin Guide Selected (restaurants recommended by Michelin) and Bib Gourmand (restaurants with delicious food and affordable prices). Michelin Guide also announced the list of Michelin-starred restaurants, the most anticipated award.
All dining establishments at the event were evaluated and ranked by anonymous Michelin Guide inspectors according to five general criteria: quality of ingredients; mastery of cooking techniques; harmony of flavors; character of cuisine; consistency over time and across the entire menu. These criteria are applied across all destinations worldwide.
Michelin Guide said the event not only announced the list of restaurants selected by Michelin Guide but also honored the achievements of the culinary community in these three cities.
In 2024, 7 Vietnamese restaurants in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang achieved a Michelin star for "high quality dishes, worthy of diners stopping to enjoy". Of these, 3 restaurants were awarded stars for the first time: Akuna restaurant, La Maison 1888 restaurant, The Royal Pavilion restaurant. 4 restaurants were awarded stars for the second year: Anan Saigon, Gia restaurant, Hibana by Koki restaurant of Capella Hanoi hotel, and Tam Vi.
