Director dismissed for giving false information about borrowing 720 million USD

On October 20, the Board of Directors of Nam Song Hau Petroleum Trading and Investment Joint Stock Company (NSH Petro) announced the Board of Directors' resolution approving the dismissal of Mr. Ranjit Prithviraj Thambyrajah (born in 1960, Australian nationality, legal representative) from the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director, due to his act of providing false information about the company Berhero Pty Limited trading under the name Acuity Funding, signing a contract with NSH Petro Company to lend the first installment of 103 million USD for the company to pay taxes and requesting the company to let him keep his position.

On the same day, the Board of Directors of NSH Petro announced the resolution to temporarily suspend Mr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Deputy General Director in charge of finance, according to his resignation letter dated June 3, 2025; and temporarily suspend Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Thuy, member of the Board of Supervisors, according to her resignation letter dated May 22, 2025.

Mr. Mai Van Huy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NSH Petro, announced the resolution on dismissing Mr. Ranjit Prithviraj Thambyrajah from the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director.

The Board of Directors unanimously assigned Mr. Mai Van Huy, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and legal representative, to manage the company's operations during the period when there is no General Director.

As reported by CAND Newspaper, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency has just issued a notice on the arrest and temporary detention of Mr. Ranjit Prithviraj Thambyrajah (born 1960, Australian nationality), Director of Berhero Pty Limited, trading as Acuity Funding, to investigate the act of providing false information related to the signing of an agreement to lend NSH Petro 720 million USD to implement 8 projects in two phases.

Accordingly, Mr. Ranjit Prithviraj Thambyrajah was arrested for providing false information about Berhero Pty Limited Company trading with the name of financial institution Acuity Funding, which is capable of providing from hundreds of millions to billions of USD to companies in need of loans in Vietnam. The subject appropriated fees from this company with a total amount of more than 4.9 million USD...
