The newly launched 2026 Mitsubishi Destinator in the Southeast Asian market is positioned between the Xforce and Pajero Sport, targeting family customers looking for a multi-purpose, modern vehicle that is suitable for the region's specific infrastructure conditions. Destinator is the commercial version of the DST concept model that Mitsubishi displayed in Vietnam last June 2025. The car has a modern, powerful design with the characteristic Dynamic Shield language.
This 7-seat SUV has overall dimensions of length x width x height of 4,680 x 1,840 x 1,780 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. This size is significantly larger than the Xforce and only slightly less than the Pajero Sport. Ground clearance of up to 214 mm combined with 18-inch alloy wheels helps Destinator flexibly adapt to many types of terrain, especially in flooded conditions or bad road surfaces in Southeast Asian urban areas. The all-new Mitsubishi Destinator SUV has a spacious, comfortable interior with a series of notable amenities, such as an electric panoramic sunroof,... The car is equipped with a multi-color interior lighting system with 64 color options, a symmetrically designed center console with a 12.3-inch touch screen and an 8-inch digital clock cluster.
This new 7-seat SUV also features a premium Yamaha Dynamic Sound system, providing a vibrant and deeply tuned sound experience, promising to meet the needs of young users or families who love comfort. Under the hood, the Mitsubishi Destinator is equipped with a 1.5L MIVEC Turbo gasoline engine, producing 163 horsepower and maximum torque of 250 Nm, combined with a CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive system. The suspension system on the Destinator is also specially tuned to suit the operating characteristics of the Southeast Asian region, which has many bad roads, potholes or mixed terrain. Thanks to that, the car brings a smooth and stable feeling, especially when traveling with a full load of 7 passengers.
In terms of safety equipment, Mitsubishi Destinator owns an advanced driver assistance package (ADAS), including active safety technologies such as collision warning, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, smart cruise control... All to optimize peace of mind for the driver, especially in crowded traffic environments or long journeys. With a design platform and technology developed specifically for the ASEAN region, Mitsubishi Destinator is expected to be a new competitive factor in the mid-size 7-seat SUV segment in Vietnam, where there are competitors such as Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento or Isuzu mu-X. Although the official launch date in Vietnam has not been announced, according to Mitsubishi, this model will soon be introduced in the domestic market. The car is expected to cost less than 800 million VND and some dealers are currently accepting deposits for this model.
