The common thing that tourists receive is a refreshing smile from both the “host” and the “guest”. There, they seem to be more relaxed with simple things.
From another perspective, recently a high-class guest from the US excitedly told artist Nguyen Quoc Dan (founder of “Rebirth Workshop”) about the story of the “unique” handbag.
This guest said that the bag made from recycled materials brought back from Hoi An, made her stand out from the crowd when attending an event where everyone was carrying designer handbags. This, in a nutshell, was a happy mood created by Hoi An itself.
In the proposal for Hoi An urban development planning, provincial leaders once suggested that the locality pay attention to the content of building a happy city.
“Talking about a happy city is relatively big, in some countries in the Northern Europe region people have built happy villages. Hoi An with many favorable conditions needs to study whether it can become a happy city or not? There, all residents and tourists when living and visiting will feel relaxed and comfortable” - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Tri Thanh suggested.
Among many cherished plans to build Hoi An into a happy destination, the city government has implemented the project “Developing community tourism associated with preserving indigenous cultural values and natural ecosystems in Kim Bong carpentry village, Cam Kim commune”. This is an expectation to partly turn Cam Kim into a “happy village”…
A message that Hoi An people want to send to each tourist, is labeled on the streets - "each Hoi An person is a travel companion". This scores points in the eyes of tourists coming to Hoi An. And Hoi An's hospitality is certified by international titles, including "the most hospitable city in the world ", "the friendliest city in Vietnam". Hoi An also becomes the " world's best honeymoon destination", according to TripAdvisor.
A destination that is considered ideal for couples and for love can only be a place that resonates with happiness...
