A glorious historical milestone

Main roads and alleyways are brightly decorated with national flags, banners, posters, and slogans, blending into the nationwide atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country. During these historic April days, Binh Thuan province has been organizing a series of activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its liberation. Particularly noteworthy is the rally to be held on the evening of April 19, 2025, in the center of Phan Thiet city, with the participation of approximately 3,000 delegates, including representatives of the Party and State leadership, central ministries and agencies, neighboring provinces, historical witnesses, and a large number of people from all walks of life. This is also an opportunity for the people of Binh Thuan province to reflect on the history of the 51 days and nights of attack and uprising, during which the army and people of Binh Thuan completely liberated their homeland, contributing to the great victory and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign of the entire nation. During that arduous and heroic resistance war, the land and people of Binh Thuan made immense contributions to the cause of national liberation. The indomitable Le Zone, the resilient Triangle, and the courageous Nam Son were stained with the blood of countless cadres and soldiers of the Binh Thuan armed forces. The heroic deeds of the martyrs will forever be recorded in history, and will always be a source of pride for generations of Binh Thuan people. After liberation, the Party Committee, military, and people of Binh Thuan province focused on overcoming the consequences of war, gradually restoring and developing the economy. After 50 years of liberation, especially after 30 years since the re-establishment of the province (April 1992 - April 2022), the Party Committee, government, military, and people of Binh Thuan have upheld the heroic spirit and courage of the land and people of Binh Thuan, achieving significant accomplishments in various fields. Despite many difficulties, the Party Committee, military, and people of Binh Thuan province have strived to achieve many positive results in all aspects. The economy has developed quite rapidly, with economic growth consistently higher than the national average, creating a clear transformation in the growth model, improving production capacity and the scale of the economy. Particularly in recent years, the urban and rural landscapes, including ethnic minority areas, have seen significant improvements, with many modern and well-developed residential areas opening up in both cities and rural areas. Tourist areas, infrastructure serving the health, education, culture, sports, and entertainment sectors, as well as facilities for production and business activities of various economic sectors, have received increasing and modern investment. The regions within the province are becoming more vibrant and diverse, all contributing to a more prosperous appearance for the province. Irrigation projects have yielded high efficiency... In addition, the New Rural Development Program has been actively implemented and achieved positive results. Ethnic minority areas in the province have shown clear progress in various fields. Party building work has achieved quite comprehensive and in-depth results; the political system is increasingly improving its effectiveness and efficiency; the people's trust in the Party and the State is increasingly consolidated; national unity is strengthened; democracy and discipline are better promoted; patriotic emulation movements are regularly maintained; and many exemplary and creative models have emerged... contributing to creating an important foundation to promote the faster development of all aspects of the province in the coming time. Especially in recent years, the infrastructure in the province has been gradually improved, including the North-South Expressway, Eastern section, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, and connecting roads, which have been put into use, creating a positive effect, contributing to attracting domestic and foreign investors and tourists to Binh Thuan, creating momentum for the province's socio-economic development.

In the current period, the Party Committee, Government, and people of Binh Thuan province continue to uphold revolutionary heroism, unity, and solidarity, working together to heal the wounds of war while overcoming difficulties and striving for progress. From this, they gain a deeper understanding of the values and lessons learned from the practical struggles of the nation, thereby strengthening their resolve and determination to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 14th Binh Thuan Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, contributing to the cause of building and firmly defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
