"Many diners say crocodile meat tastes like chicken but is softer and crispier. I find it more like braised chicken," said the restaurant owner.
This is not the first time Taiwan has seen strange noodle dishes that have intrigued diners. Last month, a restaurant in Taipei served ramen noodles made from a 14-legged crustacean called sea beetle. The dish is simpler to prepare than the alligator leg noodles. The chef steams the sea beetle for about 10 minutes, then places it on top of a bowl of hot ramen noodles and serves it to customers.
Currently, customers who want to enjoy the crocodile leg noodles at Witch Chat Kwai restaurant must make a reservation and will only get a seat after August. In Taiwan, it is legal to raise and eat crocodiles.
