On the occasion of International Children's Day June 1, this morning, General Secretary To Lam visited and encouraged teachers and students of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School and Xa Dan Secondary School.

This is the special concern of the General Secretary for the young generation of Vietnam in general and the young generation of the capital in particular. The two schools are places to raise children with disabilities so that they can integrate into the community, live independently and contribute to society.

In the loving atmosphere of International Children's Day, General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy and emotion when visiting two schools with the sacred mission of helping to give wings to dreams for special students, children with disabilities but full of determination and aspiration to rise up.

The General Secretary shared his emotions when watching the performances by the students. These were not only good and emotional performances but also the feelings of the teachers and students of the school sent to the General Secretary and the delegates attending the meeting.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the efforts of teachers, students, staff and workers of the two schools over the past decades.

"School is not only aneducational institution but also a common home full of love, where teachers not only teach letters but also teach students how to overcome difficulties that normal students do not have to face, overcome common limits and rise up to master life," the General Secretary emphasized.

He was particularly moved and admired the perseverance, resilience and unyielding spirit of the disabled students. "They are shining examples of determination and a strong source of inspiration, not only for their peers but also for the whole society," the General Secretary expressed.

Although the road is more bumpy, thorny, and difficult than others, the General Secretary believes that with courage, determination, and hope, you will step by step, together with teachers, friends, and family, overcome all difficulties and reach success.

"Always believe that you are not alone, not a minority. You are full citizens in social life. The Party, the State, teachers, parents, and the whole society always accompany, follow, and support you with all love and responsibility," the General Secretary advised.

The General Secretary called on ministries, sectors, authorities at all levels and the whole society to take stronger actions to care for children with disabilities. This is a political responsibility and also a measure of the country's civilization and progress.

The Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health will closely coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and local authorities to replicate the model of schools with similar functions to the two schools in Hanoi or other specialized schools to create homes for children with disabilities, students with hearing impairments, visual impairments, intellectual disabilities, autism, and those affected by Agent Orange...

The General Secretary emphasized the spirit of "not leaving any children with congenital disabilities behind".

To achieve the above goal, the General Secretary said it is necessary to build a synchronous policy system for special education, which links schools with hospitals, therapy centers, gifted facilities, and rehabilitation.

The General Secretary welcomed the cooperation between Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School and the Vietnam National Academy of Music. He was particularly moved by the story of a teacher from the Fire Prevention and Fighting University volunteering to teach music to students.

The General Secretary noted that it is necessary to strengthen the training of specialized teachers, therapists, school psychologists, and develop a system of learning materials and teaching equipment suitable for each situation. It is necessary to continue providing financial support, scholarships, insurance, and facilities for disabled students in urban and rural areas, especially in remote areas.

The General Secretary proposed establishing special education support centers, developing friendly school models, and facilities accessible to all types of disabilities. Schools need to proactively coordinate and connect with hospitals, medical organizations, and art and vocational education facilities to build a multidimensional learning environment, helping children not only learn to read and write but also learn a trade, learn to be human, and have a happy life.

To parents, the General Secretary advised "to give greater love to your children". Children need to be loved, recognized, expected and most of all, accompanied, "family is a solid rear for children to confidently step out into society".

The General Secretary called on the community, businesses, social organizations, and each individual to join hands in building a society where all children, whether healthy or disabled, can live in sharing, respect, and fair development.

The General Secretary expressed his deep gratitude, saying that the work of teachers is not only a profession but also a mission. Teachers have lit the fire of determination, and are a solid foundation for students to enter life.

Hanoi has only been able to organize basic classes for disabled students, the requirement is to organize high school, even from kindergarten level. The General Secretary shared that there are many talented disabled people in Vietnam and the world in music, painting, literature, sports...

The General Secretary said that artist Sugi Ryotaro (former Special Ambassador of Vietnam - Japan) wants to support the establishment of a symphony orchestra for the visually impaired in Vietnam. Not only in music but also in other arts and fields such as sports, technology... it is also necessary to allow disabled children to access and develop.

The General Secretary stated that the upcoming resolution of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development will include content on education for children with disabilities.

Student Vu Minh Tu, class 9A1, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School expressed that each step of his progress is associated with the concern of society, the dedication of teachers and especially the humane policies of the Party and State for children in general and disabled students in particular.

"We are studying in a safe, loving and hopeful environment. Under this roof, we are able to develop ourselves and reach dreams that the blind think are difficult to reach, such as learning to play musical instruments, learning to draw... We promise to try to study well, live responsibly, nurture our dreams and become useful citizens to society," Tu emotionally shared.
