What impressed me was that in the first quarter of 2026, the entire province already had 14 social housing projects scheduled to begin construction. These projects are being implemented in areas with a large number of workers, which are also where we work and live. This means that the opportunity to live closer to work, reduce commuting costs, and stabilize our lives is about to become a reality.
Not stopping at immediate projects, the province's long-term plan further strengthens my belief. According to the assigned targets, from now until 2030, Dong Nai will complete nearly 64,700 social housing units. Specifically, over 8,000 units will be completed in 2026, nearly 10,000 in 2027, and approximately 14,200 units each year thereafter. For migrant workers like us, these are no longer just dry numbers, but a glimmer of hope for a stable place to live in the near future.
That belief is further strengthened by looking at the actual results: in 2025, Dong Nai completed more than 4,600 social housing units, achieving 112% of the target set by the Government . In my opinion, this is a very encouraging sign, showing that the policy is being implemented seriously and effectively, and not just remaining at the planning stage.
In our daily conversations at the boarding house, we – migrant workers from other provinces – have started talking more about "buying a house" instead of just discussing rent. Many have looked into the conditions and procedures for applying to buy social housing. I myself am considering it and hope that one day soon I can own a small apartment, enough for my family to live comfortably.
I clearly feel that the province's efforts in developing social housing not only have policy significance but also address the very real desire of workers to have a place to "settle down." With stable housing, we will feel more secure in our work, and be more committed to the business and the locality in the long term.
I still have concerns such as: the procedures for buying a house, the ability to obtain loans, and whether the supply will meet the demand... But with what is happening, from exceeding the 2025 target to the plan to develop tens of thousands of houses in the coming years, I believe that the dream of home ownership for workers in Dong Nai is gradually becoming a reality.
