A woman was killed by a lightning strike while working in the fields.

QTO - On May 14th, Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh commune, stated that a woman in the commune was struck by lightning and died while working in the fields.

Accordingly, at approximately 4:30 PM on May 13th, Ms. HTH (born in 1982, residing in Vinh Tuy 3 village) unfortunately met with an accident while working in the fields with her husband to prepare for the summer-autumn crop. At the time of the incident, there was light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in the area.

Immediately after receiving the news, local authorities organized visits to offer condolences and support to the victim's family.

According to official forecasts, thunderstorms are frequent in the province during this time, especially in the afternoon and evening, with localized lightning strikes often occurring during these thunderstorms. Therefore, people need to be vigilant and seek safe shelter during thunderstorms and lightning strikes, and absolutely avoid handling electrical devices, mobile phones, etc.
