According to records, despite the rainy weather, the rapid flow of the stream, the local authorities continuously broadcast warnings, assigned patrols, and reminded people, but many people still gathered along both sides of the stream to catch fish. Some households even brought small children along, making the risk of accidents even greater.
The leader of Yen Thang commune said that this is a custom of the people, whenever it rains, they go to the river and stream to catch fish. In response to this situation, the commune has stepped up propaganda and mobilization, and at the same time requested the functional forces to be on duty at dangerous spots, detect and ask people to come ashore. However, many people still risk their lives to go down to the stream to catch fish.
