A university has a principal's Tet bonus equal to that of a janitor.

Recently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announced that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, each officer and employee of the school will receive a bonus of 25 million VND/person.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan - Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade - said that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, each officer and employee of the school will receive a bonus of 25 million VND/person.

This is the bonus level implemented according to the internal spending regulations applied from the 2024-2025 school year. All cadres, civil servants, employees, and school leaders with a working period of 1 year or more, regardless of title, position, or degree, will receive the same bonus. Thus, the school principal's Tet bonus will be equal to the janitor's Tet bonus.

Sharing the reason for not decentralizing the Tet bonus, the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade said that every month, managers and lecturers working at the school, depending on their titles, positions, and degrees, have higher incomes than other employees. On Tet, all employees have the same needs to celebrate Tet, and all have expenses to spend on family and relatives.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan added that the school currently has nearly 800 staff, lecturers and employees. The school's Tet bonus fund this year is estimated at nearly 20 billion VND. Compared to 2024, the school's Tet bonus increased by 5 million VND/person.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announced the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2025. Accordingly, students and lecturers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will start their holiday from January 20, 2025 to February 16, 2025 (ie December 21 to January 19). The Tet holiday is 28 days, the longest Tet holiday compared to other universities in Ho Chi Minh City up to now.
