A major university in Ho Chi Minh City announced enrollment and tuition increase.

(Dan Tri) - The largest social sciences training school in the South announced its enrollment plan and continued tuition increase in the 2025-2026 school year.

On the evening of June 14, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced enrollment information for the year 2025.

This year, the school enrolls 3,899 students for 37 training majors in 2 regular programs including standard program and international standard program.

The school uses three admission methods.

Method 1: direct admission, priority admission, including the following subjects:

- Method 1.1: code 301, direct admission, priority admission according to regular university admission regulations (not applicable to foreign training joint programs);

- Method 1.2: code 303, priority is given to direct admission of the best candidates from high schools in 2025 (according to regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University);

- Method 1.3: code 302, priority admission at 149 high schools in the list of Ho Chi Minh City National University;

- Method 1.4: general admission code 500, priority is given to students who are members of provincial or municipal teams participating in national excellent student competitions or who won first, second, or third prizes in provincial/municipal excellent student competitions; candidates with achievements in social, artistic, and sports activities; candidates who graduated from foreign high school programs; and high school transcripts for 2+2 joint training programs with foreign countries.

Specifically:

+ Method 1.4.1: code 501, priority is given to students who are members of provincial or municipal teams participating in national excellent student competitions or who won first, second, or third prizes in provincial/municipal excellent student competitions;

+ Method 1.4.2: code 502, admission based on high school academic results for candidates with excellent achievements, especially outstanding in social activities, arts, and sports;

+ Method 1.4.3: code 503, admission based on high school academic results combined with IELTS and TOEFL iBT certificate requirements for candidates graduating from foreign high school programs.

+ Method 1.4.4: code 504, considering high school transcripts with conditions for the 2+2 foreign training joint program in English and Chinese language.

Method 2 : code 401, admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025.

Method 3 : code 100, admission based on the results of the 2025 high school exam.

Regarding the principle of converting the input threshold score and admission score, converting the input threshold between admission methods and admission combinations according to a rule that ensures equivalence in the level of meeting the input requirements of the corresponding training program and major; the rule for converting the input threshold follows the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training and of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Admission scores for all methods are converted to a 30-point scale. The highest score is 30 points.

The school will announce the conversion principles according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University later.

Expected entry threshold, for methods 100, 302, 303 and 500: expected from 18 to 20 points; for method 401 expected from 620 points or more.

Continue to increase tuition fees

Except for the international standard program which remains at 60 million VND/year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to increase tuition fees for training programs in 2025.

Specifically:

Group 1 includes religious studies, philosophy, geography, history, information - library; archival studies; Spanish language, Italian language; Russian language with tuition fees of 16,652,000 VND/year (in 2024 it is 14.3 million VND).

Group 2 includes sociology, linguistics, art, cultural studies, information management, Vietnam studies (for Vietnamese people), anthropology, office administration, social work, international studies, urban studies, education management, literature, educational psychology, education, Oriental studies, German language, French language with tuition fees of 24,255,000 VND/year (in 2024, these groups of majors will have tuition fees of 21,780,000 VND).

Group 3 includes psychology, tourism and travel services management, multimedia communication, journalism, international relations, Japanese studies, English language, Chinese language, Korean studies, and Korean business with tuition fees of VND 29,843,000/year.

Vietnamese Studies (for foreigners) increased from 66 million VND/year in 2024 to 72.6 million VND/year.

The school announced that tuition fees may be adjusted annually but not exceed 15% compared to the previous year.
