Following the completion of the £62.5 million deal to bring Matheus Cunha from Wolves, Mbeumo emerged as Manchester United's top target in this summer's transfer window. "The Red Devils submitted a £55 million offer to Brentford for the striker who scored 20 Premier League goals last season. However, Brentford rejected the offer because they value Mbeumo at nearly £70 million."
Currently, MU also faces the possibility of not being able to acquire Mbeumo due to interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The London club could offer him the opportunity to play in the Champions League and continue working with his former Brentford manager, Thomas Frank.
According to ESPN , if they cannot sign Mbeumo, MU will turn to other options, including Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. Both Semenyo and Eze are fast players who have proven their worth in England.
Semenyo is capable of playing both on the wing and in central midfield. He scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 37 Premier League games for Bournemouth last season. Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Eze scored 8 goals and provided 8 assists in 34 Premier League games for Crystal Palace.
Eze also played a key role in Palace's FA Cup victory, scoring four goals in five games, including the winning goal in the final against Man City.
Eze finished the 2024/25 season in impressive form, scoring seven goals in his final seven games for Palace, earning him a call-up to the England squad by manager Thomas Tuchel. He came on as a substitute in last week's 1-0 win against Andorra and played the full 90 minutes in the 1-3 defeat against Senegal.
Last season, MU finished below Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in the Premier League. After losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final last month, MU will not participate in any European cup competitions next season.
