After completing the £62.5m deal to bring Matheus Cunha from Wolves, Mbeumo emerged as United's top target this summer. "The Red Devils sent a £55m offer to Brentford to recruit the striker who scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season. However, Brentford rejected this offer because they valued Mbeumo at nearly £70m.
Currently, MU also faces the possibility of not being able to own Mbeumo due to interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The London team can provide him with the opportunity to play in the Champions League and continue working with former Brentford coach, Thomas Frank.
According to ESPN , if Mbeumo cannot be signed, MU will turn to other options, including Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. Both Semenyo and Eze are fast players and have proven their worth in the land of fog.
Semenyo, who can play on the wing and through the middle, scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 37 Premier League games for Bournemouth last season. Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Eze scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 34 Premier League games for Crystal Palace.
Eze also played a key role in Palace's FA Cup triumph, scoring four goals in five games, including the winning goal in the final against Man City.
Eze finished the 2024/25 season in impressive form, scoring seven goals in his final seven games for Palace, earning an England call-up from Thomas Tuchel. He came off the bench in the 1-0 win over Andorra last week, and played the full 90 minutes in the 3-1 defeat to Senegal.
Last season, United finished below Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in the Premier League. After losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final last month, United will not be in any European competition next season.
