Baleba has emerged as one of the Premier League's best young midfielders since joining the Seagulls from Lille in 2023.
After his breakthrough season in 2024/25, the young talent of Cameroon origin is rumored to be leaving. MU targets Carlos Baleba as an ideal contract to supplement the midfield, playing alongside captain Bruno Fernandes.

Brighton immediately demanded £120 million, causing their Manchester counterparts to hesitate. A report from Sportsmail last week confirmed that the deal between the two parties was going off track.
Therefore, a source from The Athletic has just confirmed that MU has now withdrawn from the Baleba transfer and may switch to backup plans.
The news is encouraging for Brighton fans, but Baleba himself still wants to leave and continues to push to make it happen through his agent.
The Manchester team's decision to stop pursuing him also stemmed from coach Fabian Hurzeler's admission: "Very, very, very confident Baleba will stay at the Amex."
The young coach added: "That's my belief. I don't see any change. Baleba just changed his hairstyle and there's nothing new in the last two weeks.
He is enjoying life and being a Brighton player. Baleba is also grateful for the progress he made last season."
