Some projects in the tourism sector such as: Ecotourism, resort and entertainment project at Tan Phu protective forest management board; Da Chong scenic area (Dinh Quan commune); Ecotourism and urban development project at Chua Chan mountain and Nui Le lake (Xuan Loc commune); Building Tan Trieu cultural - tourism village model in Tan Trieu ward... are focused on by provincial leaders to review and promote implementation progress.

Removing obstacles for projects

The project of developing ecotourism and urban areas at Chua Chan Mountain and Nui Le Lake (collectively called Chua Chan Mountain Tourism Project) of Xuan Loc commune is being focused on reviewing and removing obstacles to clear the way. This project has been updated with a total area of nearly 1,500 hectares. This is one of the key tourism development projects of the province, with a large scale that is attracting the attention of the people, waiting for it to be completed and put into operation soon.

Sharing about the project preparation process, Party Secretary and Chairwoman of Xuan Loc Commune People's Council Nguyen Thi Cat Tien said: Since 2018-2019, with the close direction of the provincial leaders, Xuan Loc commune (former Xuan Loc district) had to form separate working groups, step by step advising the provincial leaders to update the planning in the direction of developing Xuan Loc into an urban area of the province. From there, synchronously develop urban infrastructure and traffic, creating connections between Xuan Loc and neighboring areas.

In the first 9 months of 2025, Dong Nai tourism industry had many outstanding activities such as: Hot Air Balloon Festival with the theme Flying to Dong Nai - The heroic spirit of the Eastern region; Son Tien tourist area (Long Hung ward) invested an additional 540 billion VND in new tourism projects and products including: Exploring the strange planet of geniuses at the Sacred Phoenix Palace, the Southeast river tourism area, the Kim Ngan Tien Palace square..., contributing to diversifying products to serve the needs of entertainment and increasing tourist attraction.

Accordingly, Xuan Loc commune is expected to need about 8 trillion VND to invest in and develop transport infrastructure, creating connections with the Chua Chan Mountain Tourism Project. Therefore, Xuan Loc commune hopes that in addition to supporting the locality to promote the progress of tourism projects, the provincial leaders should consider allocating investment capital and developing transport infrastructure in parallel to ensure smoothness and create connections with neighboring areas to benefit when the tourism project comes into operation.

As the first forest ecotourism project approved in Dong Nai province (March 2023), the Mai Waterfall - Bau Nuoc Soi Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Project for the period 2021-2030 at Tan Phu Protective Forest Management Board (Dinh Quan commune) is in the list of key projects that need to be reviewed and accelerated.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC), in June 2024, Tan Phu Protective Forest Management Board signed a contract to lease the forest environment with The Coi - Dong Nai Joint Stock Company at 10 tourist sites in Dinh Quan commune (according to the tourism development project) with an area of about 417 hectares. However, during the implementation process, the project has not yet been fully completed due to problems with site clearance and relocation support for some households. This is an issue that the provincial leaders are directing to review and soon have a solution.

Comprehensive assessment to clear projects

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, currently key tourism projects in the province still have difficulties and problems that affect the formation of tourism products as well as the overall tourism development of the province.

Up to now, some projects have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment but the efficiency is not high, investors have difficulty in capital sources; some administrative procedures related to land are still difficult... Some projects are behind schedule such as: Eco-tourism site combined with entertainment on Ba Xe islet in Long Hung ward; Heaven Green Eco-tourism project in Tri An commune; Eco-tourism site with a scale of 46 hectares in Binh Loc ward...

In addition, some projects have been partially invested but need to complete legal procedures on land such as: Project of Outdoor Film Studio combined with Bu Lach Grassland Ecotourism (scale of 364 hectares) in Tho Son commune; Golden Cashew Fruit Tourist Site in Dong Tam commune...

In order for these projects to complete procedures and speed up implementation, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan said: For key tourism projects, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to direct the review and coordinate with localities and units to advise the Provincial People's Committee to remove obstacles in planning; adjust legal documents, capital sources... to create favorable conditions to support investors.

In addition to promoting the development of tourist destinations, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism encourages and supports businesses when investing in the construction of high-quality, large-scale accommodation facilities in areas with untapped tourism potential; encourages investment in entertainment areas, restaurant systems, eateries, and specialized cafes to serve tourists. At the same time, research and develop diverse and rich nighttime entertainment activities to extend the length of stay and increase tourists' spending.

Working with departments, branches and localities on the progress of tourism projects in the province, comrade Le Truong Son, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested units, departments, branches and localities to quickly review the remaining projects. For key tourism projects, each regulation must be carefully reviewed to ensure smooth implementation.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned departments and branches to closely coordinate with localities with tourism projects, closely follow the progress, and promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee on how to resolve obstacles and difficulties according to regulations. In particular, tighten the management of construction around the project planning area, ensure a solid legal basis to create the most favorable conditions in the process of implementing the projects.
