24h Press Image: Baseball-sized hail falls on the US, sounds like a bomb being thrown at an ambulance

An unusual hailstorm, with hailstones the size of baseballs, hit Texas (USA). Residents said the loud noise from the hail sounded like a bomb was thrown at an ambulance.
NBC News reported that Johnson City, Texas, recorded baseball-sized hailstones, large enough to shatter the windows of an SUV. Locals found a 6-inch hailstone, the second largest in Texas history. The state has only recorded four hailstones larger than 6 inches since 1950. This week, severe storms and tornadoes devastated the Midwest and then spread to the Southeast.
“The hail felt like someone was throwing a bomb at the roof of the ambulance. It was even more terrifying when the hail hit the windshield and sent debris flying everywhere,” Texas medic Lydia Torres told NBC News.
