After buying VinFast VF 3 for half a year, the car owner shared: "Life is more interesting and 'chill'"

Mr. Ngo Xuan Loc ( Can Tho ) bought a VinFast VF 3 at VinFast Can Tho dealer in November 2024. Up to now, the car has traveled 12,000 km, an average of about 2,400 km/month - an impressive distance compared to a small car used for daily commuting.

Save nearly 26 million VND since using VF 3

- Why did you choose to buy a VinFast VF 3 even though you already own a gasoline car?

The initial reason was because my wife liked this car model. I myself also wanted to find a car model to play with, which could express my personality and personal style. Besides, my family also needed a car for daily use in the city that was cost-effective.

More importantly, I have been interested in electric cars and wanted to experience them for a long time. Therefore, I chose VinFast VF 3. My VF 3 is also one of the first in Can Tho.

- How do you use the VinFast VF 3 every day?

Since buying the VinFast VF 3, I drive this car to work almost every day. The distance from home to work is only about 10 km. However, my wife and I have a habit of taking each other to and from 2 different workplaces, 4 times a day. Therefore, the distance traveled is up to 60-70 km/day.

Since using VF 3, Mr. Loc almost never uses a B-class gasoline car in the house.

- What makes you love and continuously use the VinFast VF 3 so frequently?

Previously, I used Kia Seltos. But since buying VF 3, that car is almost in the corner, I rarely use it. This has 2 main reasons.

First, the cost of using an electric car is very cheap. Currently, the car is free to charge until June 2027, so I don't have to pay any energy costs. The only expenses are parking and car washing, which are negligible.

Second, I like the way electric cars operate. I think this VF 3 has better performance than many current A-class cars, even some B-class models. The car accelerates more immediately and does not jerk slightly when having to change gears like gasoline cars. Therefore, I find driving an electric car much smoother.

The VF 3 is compact in size, so it is easy to drive in crowded inner-city areas. Moving in small alleys or finding parking spaces is also easier. In particular, since buying the VF 3, my wife has been more confident driving because she no longer worries about measuring distances or estimating space.

- You mentioned the economy of VinFast VF 3. Compared to using the Kia Seltos, how much do you estimate you can save?

To compare, I can say it is “a world apart”. Before using VF 3, with a frequency of use of 60-70km/day, I spent about 4 million VND per month to fill up gas for the Kia Seltos.

Regarding maintenance, I only had to maintain the VF 3 once after 12,000 km of use for 326,000 VND. Meanwhile, the Seltos had to be maintained twice after 12,000 km, the first time at 5,000 km costing about 2 million VND, the second time at 10,000 km costing about 4 million VND.

So, after 5 months and 12,000 km, I only spent 326,000 VND on VinFast VF 3. If I replace it with Kia Seltos, I will lose up to 26 million VND.

VF 3 makes life more 'chill'

The equipment that Mr. Loc appreciates most on the VF 3 is the touch screen and windshield.

- You are using a B-class gasoline car, now switching to a minicar model, will the equipment on the VF 3 make you "disappointed"?

Not at all. Compared to the price and daily needs, I find the equipment on the VF 3 reasonable. What I like most is the touch screen on the car. The interface is beautiful, the images are intuitive and sharp. I am looking forward to the upcoming software updates to upgrade more features.

The windshield design is also something I love about this bike. The VF 3's windshield is positioned higher than usual, and the distance to the driver is greater. When driving in the sun, this position and angle will help the driver avoid being dazzled and reduce heat.

- Does charging and calculating your journey make you change your travel habits compared to before?

Regarding charging, I have no difficulty because the charging station network is now very dense, everywhere. Right next to my house, there is also a VinFast electric car charging station. Normally, I charge my car every afternoon after work. In the evening, I come back to get the car before going to bed, the battery is full.

Sometimes, I take advantage of charging the battery during the day and the time waiting for the battery to charge is when I can concentrate on finishing unfinished work.

In terms of operating range, the VinFast VF 3 can travel more than 200 km on a full charge. Through use, I found that the actual operating range of the vehicle matches this number. Normally, I will not let the battery remain below 20% before charging. However, there was a time when I tried to drain the battery to only 3% and the vehicle had already traveled more than 200 km.

According to Mr. Loc, VF 3 is not only a means of transportation but also shows the owner's style.

- In conclusion, in your opinion, what has made VinFast VF 3 a car model that is loved by many people and created a "phenomenon" like today?

I see that VF 3 is no longer a daily car. VF 3 buyers not only buy cars to drive but also to play, to show off their style. VinFast has done this very well by creating a strong community of car owners. Until now, people often joke with each other that "1 square meter has 3 VF 3 cars".

Personally, I find that since I bought the VF 3, I drive more and go out more. I also often go on picnics with the VF 3, sometimes even twice a month. On the upcoming April 30 holiday, I am also planning to use the VF 3 to go camping. Thanks to that, it seems that my life has become more interesting and "chill" since I bought this car.
