Ma River water level rises, warning of flash floods and landslides

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Currently, the water level of Ma River (Thanh Hoa) and Ca River (Nghe An) is rising. The water level at 7:00 p.m. on July 22, at some stations is as follows: On Ma River at Hoi Xuan station, it is 59.14m, 0.14m above alarm level 1; On Ca River at Con Cuong station, it is 28.5m, 0.5m above alarm level 1.

Warning: From tonight (July 22) to July 25, 2025, there will be a flood on Ma River and Ca River, with flood amplitude on the rivers ranging from 3-8m.

During this flood, the flood peak in the upstream of Ma River reached level BĐ1-BĐ2; the upstream of Ca River reached level BĐ2-BĐ3, with some stations above BĐ3. The flood peak in the downstream of Ca River was at level BĐ3; the downstream of Ma River was still below level BĐ1.

High risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, urban areas, and residential areas in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces (especially widespread flooding in the downstream area of the Ca River); flash floods and landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An .
