On November 26, the US announced a one-year extension of tariff exemptions on some industrial and medical goods imported from China, as part of the US-China trade truce announced earlier this month.
These tariffs, imposed under Section 301 issued by President Donald Trump, have been extended several times for more than a year and are scheduled to expire on November 29.
The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) said the extension of the tariff exemption follows the historic trade and economic agreement between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, announced by the White House on November 1, 2025.
This extension includes 14 product groups related to solar energy production equipment and 164 industrial-medical product groups, including electric motors, blood pressure measuring devices, pump components, automobile air compressors and printed circuit boards.
Observers say the tariff exemption extension is aimed at maintaining important supply chains and consolidating the process of easing trade tensions between the world's two largest economies.
