Data shows that more than 27% of the total time Vietnamese people spend on the Internet is spent surfing social networks. Meanwhile, the total time spent on work only accounts for 15.4%.
Looking back at the prominent concerns of Vietnamese Internet users, "typhoon Yagi " and "gold price" lead the list of most searched keywords in 2024.
Meanwhile, “Anh Trai Vuon Ngan Chong Gai”, “Anh Trai Say Hi” and the slang “dính cính cính” are hot search topics.
According to the 2024 Search and Web Surfing Trends Report of Coc Coc browser, compared to 2023, entertainment is the most searched topic, with a slight growth of 2%.
However, in terms of growth trends, technology was the most prominent topic, with searches increasing by 22%.
One of the hottest tech topics of 2024 is mandatory biometric authentication for online transactions, with searches jumping 957%. The iPhone 16 launch, while not much innovation, still generated a 322% increase in searches.
The report also shows that the top 5 technology products most searched by users in 2024 include: "Samsung S24 Ultra", "iPhone 16", "Redmi Note 13", "iPhone 15" and "Macbook Air M3".
The top 5 most popular apps and software in Vietnam last year were: “Canva”, “TikTok”, “Gemini”, “Capcut” and “Scratch”. Searches for online learning platforms such as Scratch, VNedu and IOE also increased, recording growth of 154%, 73% and 20%.
On average, each Vietnamese user visited 67 websites in 2024. Data recorded from browsers shows that the need to surf social networks, watch videos and listen to music, and work accounted for the largest proportion, accounting for 27.4%, 23% and 15.4% of total traffic, respectively.
