(QNO) - On January 12, the Provincial People's Committee approved the plan for agricultural land area supported with money for using public irrigation service products in 2024 for more than 85,122 hectares, an increase of more than 423 hectares compared to 2023.

According to the plan, Quang Nam Irrigation Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. will be responsible for irrigating nearly 50,000 hectares, an increase of 350.6 hectares compared to 2023; including an area of fully active irrigation by gravity of more than 31,500 hectares, fully active irrigation by dynamic force of more than 10,890 hectares, partially active irrigation of more than 142 hectares, water supply by gravity to create a source of water for more than 7,293 hectares, water supply by dynamic force of more than 146 hectares.

Irrigation units at the district, town and city level are responsible for irrigating more than 35,149 hectares, an increase of more than 72.5 hectares compared to 2023; including an area of fully active irrigation by gravity of more than 14,054 hectares, fully active irrigation by dynamic force of more than 12,441 hectares, combined dynamic and gravity irrigation of more than 235 hectares, partially active irrigation of 977 hectares; using water to create sources by gravity of more than 2,665 hectares; using water to create sources by dynamic force of more than 4,774 hectares.

The Provincial People's Committee authorized the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to agree on the increase or decrease in area and conversion of irrigation methods in the process of serving agricultural production irrigation in 2024 in the province.
