(VLO) In the modern context, consumers not only tend to shop online to save time, but also want to experience shipping services, customer care, price incentives, etc. This opens up opportunities for innovation for businesses, while also challenging them to create creative marketing strategies to attract customers' attention.

The province has implemented many programs to support small and medium enterprises in transforming the way they provide products and services on digital platforms.

Taking advantage of the quiet time, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Uyen - marketing staff of Rio milk tea shop (Ward 4, Vinh Long City), quickly "pressed the camera" to film a video promoting the shop's beverage products, running ads for promotional activities of the month on social networking sites to increase customer attraction.

“The transformation of sales methods to apply social networking platforms will serve consumers better. To keep up with customer psychology, we also connect with influencers (KOLs) in the region to enhance brand promotion effectiveness.”

Mr. Le Minh Khanh - owner of Rio milk tea shop, shared: "Currently we have 5 branches operating in Vinh Long city and Long Ho district, the business method on social networking platforms is highly effective, helping to save costs.

On average, our daily sales from our Facebook page can equal direct sales at a branch. Moreover, this form also provides useful tools for us to accurately measure revenue, customer feedback and reviews, thereby making it easier to manage and operate the sales system and take care of customers.

Recently, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (under the Department of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City College of Foreign Economic Relations organized a training course on "Customer exploitation and development skills (through traditional and modern channels)" in the districts of Vung Liem, Mang Thit, Long Ho, and Tam Binh.

Ms. Lu Thi Hong Ly - Deputy Director of the center, said: "With the desire to create conditions for provincial enterprises to develop in a sustainable direction, catch up with modern trends, especially the trend of business development based on developing customer relationships, and at the same time applying digital platforms to attract more customers, the center organized a training course attracting about 160 participants.

Through the process of exchanging with learners, we have recorded many difficulties of enterprises in adapting and applying this new business method, because the majority of enterprises are small and medium-sized, so they are limited in human resources, ability to access new technology, initial investment costs, etc.

Although there are many challenges for businesses, in the digital age, businesses need to adapt and change their perspective, maximize the potential of digital marketing, help cut intermediary costs, and optimize business profits.

As a unit that regularly organizes courses to support businesses in management, operation, and business strategy development, the Center for Investment Promotion and Enterprise Support (under the Department of Planning and Investment) has successfully organized 10 executive director classes, 7 business director classes, 6 financial director classes, about 50 classes on business startups, business administration... with many practical topics on fostering marketing skills from traditional to multi-channel, online sales, 4.0 application in business management... According to this unit, since 2018, the province has supported 80% of tuition fees for businesses in the province to participate in training courses organized by the province.

Businesses need to rely on customer interest to make decisions on choosing appropriate marketing channels.

At a course on online marketing using Zalo and TikTok applications for businesses to sell products and promote their brands, Mr. Luong Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, said: “Recently, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have paid attention to training and developing human resources for businesses. This is one of the important goals in the province's plan to support and develop businesses in the present and future.

The training courses aim to improve knowledge and skills in the field of online marketing for small and medium enterprises. In particular, Zalo and TikTok are popular social networking platforms, helping businesses reach a large number of customers, especially the younger generation. Businesses can create content, build marketing strategies, analyze data to optimize business efficiency and develop brands.

Digital marketing has become an indispensable tool for many small and medium-sized enterprises. Due to its wide reach and clear measurement efficiency, this method brings many competitive advantages to enterprises.

According to experts, businesses need to identify specific target customers to effectively implement marketing activities on digital platforms depending on each stage of development, market characteristics and available resources. Through market research, businesses will build a more specific and accurate portrait of target customers, making marketing more cost-effective and effective.
