Nam Cuong strives to complete level 2 electronic identification

Nam Cuong Commune Police support and guide people to install VNeID application.

On the porch of a small house halfway up the mountain in Con Poong village, Mr. Hoang Van Ky attentively followed every operation on the phone screen. This was the first time Mr. Ky had accessed the VNeID application and an electronic identification account, through the guidance of Nam Cuong Commune Police officers .

Mr. Ky shared: I was enthusiastically guided by the police officers to install the VNeID application and integrate other documents. From now on, wherever I go, I do not need to bring my driver's license or health insurance card, I just need to present it from my phone to have all the information.

From small changes, the digital transformation wave is gradually spreading to all villages and hamlets in the area. With an area of nearly 150km2 and a population of more than 10,800 people living in 23 villages, Nam Cuong is one of the communes with a large area, many villages are up to 30km from the center. However, those difficulties cannot stop the Commune Police force in the journey of bringing digital technology to the people.

Nam Cuong Commune Police have proactively advised on the consolidation of Project 06 at the commune level and the steering committee from the commune to the village. Mass organizations such as the Youth Union, Women's Union, village chiefs, grassroots security forces, etc. have coordinated to take part. "Going to every alley, knocking on every door, checking every person" has become a regular task to support people in activating digital signatures, completing procedures for issuing citizen identification cards for children under 6 years old, and propagating and supporting the activation of level 2 electronic identification at the commune People's Committee headquarters.

Major Nguyen Tien Bo, Deputy Chief of Nam Cuong Commune Police, said: We will continue to advise the Party Committee and government to mobilize the maximum participation of the entire political system from the commune level to the village level, community digital technology groups and organizations, determined to complete the target before August 19, 2025.

Thanks to the use of specialized machines (Mooc) to collect documents on-site, after just over a week of peak, Nam Cuong commune has collected and activated more than 1,200 level 2 identification accounts, reaching over 20% of the commune's target.

Currently, although there are still many difficulties such as some villages do not have stable phone signal, people do not have smartphones, awareness of electronic identification is limited, and the weather is unfavorable, the Commune Police force, along with the Youth Union, Women's Union, and village cadres, are still working day and night with the people and villages, providing on-site guidance, determined to complete the goal before August 19, with 100% of citizens having their records received and their level 2 electronic identification accounts activated.
