Fast connection creates momentum for production chain
Only about 360 km by road and 390 km by rail from Huu Nghi border gate, Nanning city is strongly implementing the express logistics model connecting goods “from factory to factory” with Vietnam. From the city’s industrial zones, goods can reach Hanoi - Bac Ninh in 12 hours by road and 24 hours by rail.

In the context of Bac Ninh being a densely populated area with technology corporations and a network of large industrial parks such as Yen Phong, Que Vo, Thuan Thanh, Quang Chau, Van Trung, Dinh Tram, Song Khe - Noi Hoang, Hoa Phu, etc., the advantage of fast connectivity becomes even more important. Shortening transportation time from Southern China helps businesses ensure production progress, reduce storage costs and improve their ability to respond to market fluctuations.
Nanning is also synchronously developing a multi-modal transport network - road, rail, air and waterway - suitable for the high-speed transport needs of Bac Ninh's key industries such as electronics, precision mechanics, and supporting industries. In particular, the Binh Luc Canal, when completed, will allow 5,000-ton ships to travel directly from Nanning's Luc Canh port to ASEAN countries, creating an additional low-cost transport route for businesses. For industries with bulky, large-volume goods, this is an important option to reduce pressure on roads, which are often congested at border gates.

This development of connectivity also creates a new impetus for the logistics industry in Bac Ninh - an area that the province is prioritizing to expand through the formation of warehousing, delivery and value-added service centers. Many logistics enterprises in the area have expanded their networks to Guangxi to establish bilateral delivery routes, shortening the time of transporting goods between Bac Ninh and China/ASEAN, contributing to increasing competitiveness.
ASEAN-China cooperation convergence point
Not only a transportation hub, Nanning is also a regional cooperation center, hosting the China-ASEAN Expo and Summit for 21 consecutive years. The fact that 6 ASEAN countries have set up consulates here shows the city's attraction and convergence position in dialogue, trade promotion and policy connection.
For Bac Ninh - a locality with a large import-export turnover with China, especially in the fields of electronic components, technological equipment and processed agricultural products - this is an opportunity for businesses to participate more deeply in forums, grasp market policies, seek supply partners and expand export channels to ASEAN.

Electronic components manufacturing and assembly is a field attracting many Chinese enterprises to invest in Bac Ninh. |
Nanning currently owns a national-level pilot opening-up zone system such as the Nanning Sub-regional Free Trade Pilot Zone, the ASEAN Open Financial Zone, the China-ASEAN Information Port Core Zone and the Nanning Airport Economic Demonstration Zone. The mechanisms here are testing modern trade, finance and logistics models, supporting businesses on both sides to facilitate trade, cross-border payments, supply chain management and access to international markets.

Van Trung Industrial Park (Bac Ninh) is attracting many FDI enterprises, including those from China. |
For Bac Ninh, this is an important opportunity to attract more investment capital from China in high-tech, electronics, and precision equipment industries - areas where the province has strong competitive advantages from the entire industrial ecosystem of Bac Ninh.
As the road, rail and waterway connectivity systems continue to improve, along with enhanced regional cooperation mechanisms, the connection between Nanning and Bac Ninh will have more room for development, making practical contributions to the increasingly vibrant trade and investment flows between China and ASEAN.
