According to Pham Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Health Workers' Union, during the period of 2020-2023, due to the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and legal issues affecting some health workers, coupled with the impact of the global economic recession, inflation, difficulties in working conditions, medicines, and medical equipment, health workers were understandably confused, worried, experienced reduced income, and felt stressed at work. Health workers at all levels have worked alongside professional leaders to strengthen listening and dialogue to understand the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers, thereby proposing appropriate policies and regulations; striving to resolve work-related issues, ensuring stable salaries and income for workers; organizing psychological counseling when necessary, and organizing cultural, sports, and tourism activities.

Sharing about the efforts of the Health Workers' Union, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong affirmed that, in recent times, the leadership and staff of the Vietnam Health Workers' Union have made great efforts and implemented many comprehensive solutions, coordinating with agencies and units inside and outside the sector, mobilizing all resources to carry out many activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the health sector faced many difficulties and the lives of union members and workers were not secure, the Vietnam Health Workers' Union proactively proposed to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministry of Health many policies and regulations to encourage, support, and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles for health facilities as well as the staff, doctors, nurses, union members, and workers in the sector.

Over the past period, recognizing its role and responsibilities, the Vietnam Health Workers' Union has always proactively implemented many practical activities aimed at the grassroots level, while creatively organizing many beneficial activities to help cadres, union members, and workers improve their awareness and knowledge of occupational safety and hygiene, and prevent occupational accidents and diseases at the workplace; serving as a strong support system to help the "white-coat soldiers" on the front lines gain more motivation to overcome difficulties and perform their duties of examining, treating, and caring for the health of the people.
